ABSTRACT: In the title solvated salt, (C(10)H(10)NO)[SnCl(4)(C(9)H(6)NO)]·CH(3)CN, the Sn(IV) atom is chelated by the N,O-bidentate 8-hydroxy-quinolinate ligand and four chloride ions, generating a distorted SnONCl(4) octa-hedral coordination geometry for the metal. In the crystal, the cations are linked to the anions and the solvent mol-ecules by O-H?O and N-H?N hydrogen bonds, respectively.

Project description:In the reaction of 8-hy-droxy-quinoline, 2-methyl-8-hy-droxy-quinoline and stannic chloride, the 2-methyl-8-hy-droxy-quinoline is protonated, yielding the disolvated title salt, (C(10)H(10)NO)[SnCl(4)(C(9)H(6)NO)]·2CH(3)OH. The Sn(IV) atom in the anion is N,O-chelated by the hy-droxy-quinolinate in a cis-SnNOCl(4) octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, the cation, anion and solvent mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, bis({6-ethylamino-10-[2-(methoxycarbonyl)phenyl]-2,7-dimethylxanthen-3-ylidene}ethanaminium) hexachloridotin(IV) acetonitrile disolvate, (C(27)H(29)N(2)O(3))(2)[SnCl(6)]·2C(2)H(3)N, the octa-hedral SnCl(6) (2-) anion lies on an inversion center. The xanthene ring system is essentially planar, with an average deviation of 0.020?Å, and the substituent benzene ring forms a dihedral angle of 85.89?(2)° with it. The Sn-Cl distances are in the range 2.4237?(3)-2.4454?(3)?Å. There are N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds between SnCl(6) (2-) ions and rhodamine 6G cations as well as ?-? stacking inter-actions between rhodamine 6G cations (inter-planar distance of 3.827?Å).

Project description:In the title compound, [N(C4H9)4][Sn(C4H9)Cl4], the Sn(IV) atom of the stannate anion has a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination sphere by two Cl atoms and one butyl chain in the equatorial plane and by two Cl atoms in the apical positions. Two of the four butyl chains of the tetra-butyl-ammonium cation are partially disordered, each with refined site occupancies of 0.691?(6):0.309?(6). Weak C-H?Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions help to consolidate the crystal packing, as well as a short Cl?Cl inter-action of 3.295?(2)?Å.

There are two independent ion pairs and solvent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin with a 41.8?(1)% twin component.

The Sn(IV) atom in the complex anion is surrounded by four Cl(-) ligands and two trans-phenyl groups in a distorted octa-hedral configuration. The anions are connected with the cations through N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. Every cation is involved in three N-H?Cl bonds to the chloride ligands of three different anions, and each chloride ligand is linked to two cations. This arrangement leads to a layered structure parallel to (010).

Project description:The title salt, (C6H14N)2[Sn(C2O4)Cl4], was obtained as a by-product from the reaction between 2C6H14N(+)·C2O4 (2-)·1.5H2O and SnCl2·2H2O. The cyclo-hexyl-ammonium cation has a chair conformation. The complex anion consists of an oxalate anion chelating the SnCl4 moiety, resulting in a distorted octa-hedral coordination sphere of the Sn(IV) atom with the O atoms in equatorial cis positions. In the crystal, cations and anions are linked through N-H?O and N-H?Cl inter-actions into a layered arrangement parallel to (100).
