ABSTRACT: The title complex, [FeZn(C(5)H(5))Cl(2)(C(20)H(14)N(3))]·CH(3)CN, is composed of one Zn(II) atom, one 4'-ferrocenyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (fctpy) ligand, two Cl atoms and one acetonitrile solvent mol-ecule. The Zn(II) atom is five-coordinated in a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry by the tridentate chelating fctpy ligand and two Cl atoms.

Project description:In the title complex, [FeZn(C(5)H(5))(C(20)H(14)N(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))](ClO(4))(2)·CH(3)CN, the Zn(II) atom is five-coordinated by a tridentate chelating 4'-ferrocenyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (fctpy) ligand and a bidentate chelating 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand in a distorted square-pyramidal environment with a phen N atom located at the apical position [Zn-N = 2.259?(4)?Å]. The terpyridyl motif in each fctpy ligand is coplanar, but the cyclo-penta-dienyl ring is twisted by 9.5?(2)° out of coplanarity with each central pyridine. The two cyclo-penta-dienyl rings of the ferrocenyl group are almost eclipsed with a deviation of 4.5?(1)°. In addition, inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance 3.753?(2)?Å] are present between the cyclo-penta-dienyl and outer pyridyl rings of the fctpy ligands. One of the perchlorate anions is equally disordered over two positions.

Project description:The title complex, [CuFe(C(5)H(5))(C(20)H(14)N(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))](ClO(4))(2)·C(2)H(3)N, consists of a mononuclear [Cu(C(12)H(8)N(2))(C(25)H(19)FeN(3))](2+) cation, two ClO(4) (-) anions (one of which is disordered over two positions with equal occupancy) and one CH(3)CN solvent mol-ecule. The Cu(II) center has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination with three N atoms of the 4'-ferrocenyl-2,2':6',2''- terpyridine (fctpy) ligand and one 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) N atom in the basal plane and a second phen N atom in the apical position with an axial distance of 2.254?(4)?Å. The disordered ClO(4) (-) anion is weakly coordin-ated to the Cu(II) ion with a Cu-O distance of 2.766?(11)?Å. The two cyclo-penta-dienyl rings of the ferrocenyl group are almost eclipsed with a deviation of 4.7?(1) °, and are involved in inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions with the outer pyridyl rings of the fctpy ligands [centroid-centroid distance = 3.759?(2)?Å.].

Project description:In the title Ru(II) complex, [RuCl(2)(C(8)H(12))(C(2)H(3)N)(2)]·CH(3)CN, the metal ion is coordinated to the centers of each of the double bonds of the cyclo-octa-diene ligand, to two chloride ions (in cis positions) and to two N-atom donors (from MeCN mol-ecules) that complete the coordination sphere for the neutral complex. The coordination about the Ru(II) atom can thus be considered to be octa-hedral with a slightly trigonal distortion. There is also one acetonitrile solvent mol-ecule per mol-ecule which is outside the coordination sphere of the ruthenium atom.

Project description:The title heteroleptic bis--terpyridine complex, [Ru(C(15)H(11)N(3))(C(17)H(11)N(3))](PF(6))(2)·2CH(3)CN, crystallized from an acetonitrile solution as a salt containing two hexa-fluoridophosphate counter-ions and two acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules. The Ru(II) atom has a distorted octa-hedral geometry due to the restricted bite angle [157.7 (3)°] of the two mer-arranged N,N',N''-tridendate ligands, viz. 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (tpy) and 4'-ethynyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (tpy'), which are essentially perpendicular to each other, with a dihedral angle of 87.75 (12)° between their terpyridyl planes. The rod-like acetyl-ene group lies in the same plane as its adjacent terpyridyl moiety, with a maximum deviation of only 0.071 (11) Å from coplanarity with the pyridine rings. The mean Ru-N bond length involving the outer N atoms trans to each other is 2.069 (6) Å at tpy and 2.070 (6) Å at tpy'. The Ru-N bond length involving the central N atom is 1.964 (6) Å at tpy and 1.967 (6) Å at tpy'. Two of the three counter anions were refined as half-occupied.

Project description:In the title compound, [RuCl(C(10)H(8)N(2))(C(23)H(19)N(3)O(2))]PF(6)·CH(3)CN, the ligand environment about the Ru(II) atom is distorted octa-hedral, with the substituted terpyridyl ligand coordinated in a meridional fashion, the bipyridyl ligand coordinated in a cis fashion and the Cl atom trans to one of the bipyridyl N atoms. The Ru-N distances are in the range 2.036 (2)-2.084 (2) Å with the exception of the central Ru-N bond from the terpyridyl ligand, which is shorter [1.9503 (19) Å], as expected. The pendant dimethoxy-phenyl substituent is not coplanar with the terpyridyl unit; the dihedral angle between the central pyridyl ring and the benzene ring is 46.72 (11)°. The anion is disordered equally over two positions around an F-P-F bond axis.

Project description:In the title compound, [Pd(2)Cl(4)(C(8)H(6)N(4))]·C(3)H(7)NO, the two Pd(2+) cations have a distorted square-planar coordination sphere and are bridged by a bis-bidentate 2,2'-bipyrimidine ligand. Two terminal chloride anions are also bonded to each of the Pd(2+) cations. The dinuclear complex and the dimethylformamide solvate molecule lie on the inter-section of a twofold rotation axis and a mirror plane, with disorder present in the solvate mol-ecule. There is a slight distortion from the square-planar metal geometry, as indicated by the bite angles of 81.77 (13)° and 91.63 (5)°. The C and O atoms of the solvent mol-ecule are disordered over two sets of sites of equal occupancy.

In the complex, the two pyridine rings make a dihedral angle of 15.44 (14)°. Project description:The title compound, [ZnCl(2)(C(21)H(15)N(3))], was obtained from the reaction of ZnCl(2)·4H(2)O with 4'-phenyl-terpyridine (L) and disodium 2,6-dipicolinate. The Zn(2+) cation is ligated by the N atoms of the tridentate L ligand and two chloride anions, forming a ZnN(3)Cl(2) polyhedron with a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. In the crystal, nonclassical C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds are observed.
