ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(4)H(10)NO(+)·C(5)H(8)NOS(2) (-), is built up of a morpholinium cation and a dithio-carbamate anion. In the crystal, two structurally independent formula units are linked via N-H?S hydrogen bonds, forming an inversion dimer, with graph-set motif R(4) (4)(12).

Project description:In the racemic title compound, C14H16BrNO3S2, synthesized from the corresponding ω-bromo-propio-phenone, the dihedral angle between the plane of the phenol group and that of the planar section [maximum deviation = 0.040 (2) Å] of the morpholine-4-carbodi-thiol-ate moiety is 76.36 (10)°. A strong intra-molecular phenol O-H⋯O hydrogen bond if present in the mol-ecule. In the crystal, only weak C-H⋯S and C-H⋯O inter-actions are found.

Project description:In the anhydrous salt formed from the reaction of morpholine with cinnamic acid, C4H10NO(+)·C9H7O2 (-), the acid side chain in the trans-cinnamate anion is significantly rotated out of the benzene plane [C-C-C- C torsion angle = 158.54?(17)°]. In the crystal, one of the the aminium H atoms is involved in an asymmetric three-centre cation-anion N-H?(O,O') R 1 (2)(4) hydrogen-bonding inter-action with the two carboxyl-ate O-atom acceptors of the anion. The second aminium-H atom forms an inter-species N-H?Ocarboxyl-ate hydrogen bond. The result of the hydrogen bonding is the formation of a chain structure extending along [100]. Chains are linked by C-H?O inter-actions, forming a supra-molecular layer parallel to (01-1).
