?(3)-Dodeca-tungsto(V,VI)aluminato-?O:O':O''-tris-[aqua-bis-(ethyl-ene-diamine-?N,N')copper(II)].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [AlCu(3)W(12)O(40)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(6)(H(2)O)(3)], was prepared under hydro-thermal conditions. The Cu(2+) ion displays an elongated octa-hedral geometry defined by one bridging O atom from the polyoxidoanion and a coordinated water mol-ecule in axial positions and four N atoms of the two chelating ethyl-enediamine (en) ligands in equatorial positions. The one-electron reduced [AlW(12)O(40)](6-) anion coordinates three [Cu(en)(H(2)O)](2+) fragments, generating a neutral tri-supported Keggin-type polyoxidometalate (POM). This tri-supported POM is located in a special position of [Formula: see text] symmetry and therefore O atoms from the central AlO(4) tetra-hedron are disordered over two sets of sites. Disorder is also observed for three other bridging O atoms of the POM. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected via N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:In the title compound, (NH(4))(2)[Fe(C(10)H(12)N(2)O(8))(H(2)O)]·3H(2)O, the Fe(II) center is in a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. Two carboxyl-ate O and two N atoms from the ethyl-enediaminetetra-acetate (EDTA) ion and one O atom from coordinated water comprise the equatorial plane. Two other carboxyl-ate O atoms from the EDTA ion occupy the apical sites. Both ammonium cations and all water mol-ecules function as hydrogen-bond donors, and ten N-H⋯O and nine O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form a three-dimensional network between the complex anions, cations and the water mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(H(2)NCH(2)CH(2)NH(2))(3)](CF(3)COO)(2), the environment of the Cu atom is distorted octa-hedral, formed by six N atoms from three chelating ethane-1,2-diamine ligands. The Cu-N distances range from 2.050 (2) to 2.300 (2) Å. This complex cation and the two trifluoro-acetate anions are connected by weak N-H⋯O and N-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. In both anions, the F atoms are disordered over two positions; in one the site-occupancy factors are 0.55 and 0.45, in the other the values are 0.69 and 0.31.

Project description:The title compound, (C(10)H(10)N(2))(2)[SiW(12)O(40)]·C(10)H(8)N(2)·6H(2)O or (4,4'-bipyH(2))(2)[SiW(12)O(40)].(4,4'-bipy)·6H(2)O (4,4'-bipy is 4,4'-bipyridine), was prepared under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit contains a discrete Keggin-type [SiW(12)O(40)](4-) anion (located on a twofold axis), one 4,4'-bipy (located on a twofold axis), two (4,4'-bipyH(2))(2+) cations and six uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The polyoxoanion is constructed from a central SiO(4) tetra-hedron which shares its O atoms with four trinuclear W(3)O(13) groups, each of which is made up of three edge-sharing WO(6) octa-hedra. The water mol-ecules and [SiW(12)O(40)](4-) anions are linked through hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title hydrated salt, [Co(C12H8N2)3]2[PVW11O40]·2H2O, the complete Kegggin ion is generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry, which imposes statistical disorder on the O atoms of its central PO4 group. The V atom is statistically disordered over all the metal sites of the anion. In the cation, the Co(2+) ion is coordinated by three bidentate 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands, generating a distorted CoN6 octa-hedron. Possible very weak intra-molecular C-H⋯π inter-actions occur in the cation. In the crystal, the components are linked by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O inter-actions, building a three-dimensional network featuring one-dimensional voids along the c-axis direction.

Project description:The cation of the salt, [Mn(2)(C(14)H(14)N(4))(3)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(4), lies on a center of inversion, the center lying midway along the ethyl-ene chain of the bridging N,N'-bis-(2-pyridylmethyl-ene)ethane-1,2-diamine ligand. The Mn atom is chelated by two atoms N atoms of this bridging ligand, and is also coordinated by four N atoms of another ligand. The Mn atom is seven-coordinated in a penta-gonal-bipyramidal environment. The crystal structure displays inter-molecular π-π inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings, with a shortest centroid-centroid distance of 3.784 (3) Å. The perchlorate is linked to the dinuclear cation by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(C2H8N2)2(H2O)2](C11H11N4O2S)2, contains one sulfamerazinate anion in a general position and one half-cation that is located on a center of inversion. The Cu(II) cation shows a strong Jahn-Teller distortion. It is coordinated by four N atoms of two ethyl-enedi-amine ligands in the basal plane and two O atoms at much longer distances in the axial positions in a bipyramidal coordination. In the crystal, the building blocks are connected by N-H?N, O-H?N, N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonding into a two-dimensional network parallel to (001).

The Cd(II) cation is in a distorted octa-hedral environment, coordinated by six N atoms from three chelating 3-(2-pyrid-yl)-1H-pyrazole ligands. In the reduced heteropolyanion, two O atoms of the central PO(4) group ( symmetry) are equally disordered about an inversion centre. N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds contribute to the crystal packing. Compared with the Mn(II) analogue, the Cd-N bond lengths are longer at 2.316?(7)-2.334?(6)?Å, versus 2.224?(6)-2.283?(5)?Å for Mn-N, whereas all other bond lengths and angles and the hydrogen-bonding motifs are very similar in the two structures.

Project description:Crystals of the title compound, [Fe(C(8)H(7)N(3))(3)](2)[PMo(12)O(40)]·6H(2)O, prepared under hydro-thermal conditions, are isotypic with the Mn(2+) and Cd(2+) analogues. The Fe(2+) cation is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination by six N atoms from three chelating 3-(2-pyrid-yl)-1H-pyrazole ligands. The heteropoly-anion [PMo(12)O(40)](4-) is a one-electron reduced species in which two O atoms of the central PO(4) group ( symmetry) are equally disordered about an inversion centre. N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds make a contribution to the crystal packing. The Fe-N bond lengths [2.085?(19)-2.15?(2)?Å] are somewhat shorter than the Mn-N and Cd-N bond lengths [2.224?(6)-2.283?(5) and 2.316?(7)-2.334?(6)?Å, respectively]. All other bond lengths and angles and the hydrogen-bonding motifs are very similar in the isotypic structures.

N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds contribute to the crystal packing. Compared with the isotypic structures, the main difference is related with the M-N bond lengths, whereas all other bond lengths, angles and the hydrogen-bonding motifs are very similar.
