ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, [Sm(C(10)H(13)N(2)O(8))(H(2)O)](n), each samarium(III) centre is nine-coordinated by six O and two N atoms from three N'-(carboxy-meth-yl)ethyl-enediamine-N,N,N'-triacetate ligands and one O atom of a water mol-ecule, forming polymeric chains running parallel to the a axis. The packing is governed by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

The edta ligands link the neodymium metal centres, forming polymeric chains running along the a axis of the unit cell. These chains are further assembled via inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the title compound, (NH(4))(2)[Fe(C(10)H(12)N(2)O(8))(H(2)O)]·3H(2)O, the Fe(II) center is in a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. Two carboxyl-ate O and two N atoms from the ethyl-enediaminetetra-acetate (EDTA) ion and one O atom from coordinated water comprise the equatorial plane. Two other carboxyl-ate O atoms from the EDTA ion occupy the apical sites. Both ammonium cations and all water mol-ecules function as hydrogen-bond donors, and ten N-H⋯O and nine O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form a three-dimensional network between the complex anions, cations and the water mol-ecules.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, {[Sm(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]Cl}(n), the unique Sm(III) atom lies on a crystallographic twofold axis and is eight-coordinated by four O atoms from four isonicotinate ligands and four water mol-ecules in a slightly distorted square-anti-prismatic coodination environment. The Sm(III) atoms are bridged by two carboxyl-ate groups of two isonicotinate ligands, forming an extended chain along the c-axis direction. These chains are cross-linked through hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework, with channels which accommodate the chloride anions.

Project description:THE ASYMMETRIC UNIT OF THE TITLE COMPOUND [SYSTEMATIC NAME: aqua-bis(2,4,6-trinitro-phenolato)(3,6,9-trioxaundecane-1,11-diol)gadolinium(III) 2,4,6-trinitro-phenolate methanol hemi-solvate], [Gd(C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(2)(C(8)H(18)O(5))(H(2)O)](C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))·0.5CH(4)O, contains two crystallographically independent Gd(III) complex cations with two uncoordinated picrate anions and one methanol mol-ecule. Each Gd(III) atom has nine coordination sites occupied by five O atoms of tetra-ethyl-ene glycol as a penta-dentate ligand, one O atom of a water mol-ecule and three O atoms of the two picrate anions as bidentate and monodentate ligands. The geometry is distorted tricapped trigonal prismatic. The mean planes of the two coordinated mono- and bidentate picrate ligands to the Gd(III) center are almost perpendicular to each other, as indicated by the dihedral angles of 89.92?(8) and 86.60?(8)° in the two complex cations. The ions are arranged in a two-dimensional network parallel to the ac plane. Short O?O and N?O contacts between the nitro groups, intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds, inter-molecular O-H?O, O-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, and two ?-? inter-actions between benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.8073?(10)-3.9831?(10)?Å] are observed. The methanol solvent mol-ecule is disordered over two positions, with site-occupancy factors of ca 0.6 and 0.4.

The asymmetric unit contains two crystallographically independent Ca(2+) cations connected by a chelating and bridging ethyl (dichloro-methyl-ene)diphos-pho-n-ate(3(-)) ligand and an aqua ligand. One of the Ca atoms, lying on a centre of symmetry, has a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry, while the other Ca atom is seven-coordinated in a distorted monocapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The polymeric layers are further connected by extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonding into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network. The acetone solvent mol-ecule and one uncoordin-ated water mol-ecule are located on twofold rotation axes.

Project description:The reaction of lanthanum nitrate and 4-ethyl-benzoic acid (EBAH) in aqueous solution yielded the title polymer, [La(C(9)H(9)O(2))(3)(C(9)H(10)O(2))(H(2)O)](n). The asymmetric unit contains one La(III) atom, three 4-ethyl-benzoate (EBA) ligands, one neutral EBAH ligand and one coordinated water mol-ecule. Each La(III) ion is eight-coordinated by six O atoms from six bridging-bidentate EBA ligands, one O atom from a monodentate EBAH ligand and one water O atom in a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The adjacent La(III) ions are linked by the carboxyl-ate groups of EBA ligands in a bridging-bidetate coordination mode, resulting in an infinite chain structure along the c axis. O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the water mol-ecules, carboxyl-ate groups and carboxyl H atoms are formed within the one-dimensional polymer. One of the ethyl groups is disordered over two positions with occupancies of 0.717 (7) and 0.283 (7).

Project description:The title compound, [AlCu(3)W(12)O(40)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(6)(H(2)O)(3)], was prepared under hydro-thermal conditions. The Cu(2+) ion displays an elongated octa-hedral geometry defined by one bridging O atom from the polyoxidoanion and a coordinated water mol-ecule in axial positions and four N atoms of the two chelating ethyl-enediamine (en) ligands in equatorial positions. The one-electron reduced [AlW(12)O(40)](6-) anion coordinates three [Cu(en)(H(2)O)](2+) fragments, generating a neutral tri-supported Keggin-type polyoxidometalate (POM). This tri-supported POM is located in a special position of [Formula: see text] symmetry and therefore O atoms from the central AlO(4) tetra-hedron are disordered over two sets of sites. Disorder is also observed for three other bridging O atoms of the POM. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected via N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The title compound, {[AgSm(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(H(2)O)]ClO(4)}(n), is a three-dimensional heterobimetallic complex constructed from a repeating dimeric unit. Only half of the dimeric moiety is found in the asymmetric unit; the unit cell is completed by crystallographic inversion symmetry. The Sm(III) ion is eight-coordinated by four O atoms of four different isonicotinate ligands, three O atoms of two different acetate ligands, and one O atom of a water mol-ecule. The two-coordinate Ag(I) ion is bonded to two N atoms of two different isonicotinate anions, thereby connecting the disamarium units. In addition, the isonicotinate ligands also act as bridging ligands, generating a three-dimensional network. The coordinated water mol-ecules link the carboxyl-ate group and acetate ligands by O-H?O hydrogen bonding. Another O-H?O hydrogen bond is observed in the crystal structure. The perchlorate ion is disordered over two sites with site-occupancy factors of 0.560?(11) and 0.440?(11), whereas the methyl group of the acetate ligand is disordered over two sites with site-occupancy factors of 0.53?(5) and 0.47?(5).

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Co(NO2)2(NH2CH2CH2NH2)2][Co(NO2)4(NH2CH2CH2NH2)]·H2O, was redetermined with a modern CCD-equipped diffractometer. In comparison with the original determination based on photographic data [Kushi et al. (1976 ?). Inorg. Nucl. Chem. Lett. 12, 629-633], the current study allows the location of reliable postions for the H atoms and thus leads to better understanding of the inter-ionic and inter-molecular inter-actions. The crystal structure consists of an octa-hedrally coordinated cationic Co(III) complex ion, an octa-hedrally coordinated anionic Co(III) complex ion and a lattice water mol-ecule. The complex cation, complex anion and lattice water mol-ecule are connected by an intricate network of O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Na(C(8)H(11)NO(3)P)(H(2)O)(3)](n), the sodium cation is octa-hedrally coordinated by five water mol-ecules and one O-bonded ethyl anilinophospho-nate anion. Four of the water mol-ecules bridge to adjacent sodium ions, resulting in an infinite chain of edge-sharing NaO(6) polyhedra. A network of N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds helps to stabilize the crystal structure.
