ABSTRACT: In the title heterodinuclear complex, [CuNa(C(8)H(7)O(3))(2)(NO(3))](n), the Cu(II) ion is five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal arrangement by four atoms of two different ligand molecules in equatorial positions and one remote nitrate O atom in the apical position. The Na(+) ion is eight-coordinated by four ligand O atoms and four nitrate O atoms. The ligand links the Cu(II) and Na ions, forming a layered arrangement extending parallel to (001).

Project description:In the title heterodinuclear complex, [CuNa(C(8)H(7)O(3))(2)(ClO(4))(CH(3)OH)](n), the Cu(II) ion is five-coordinated by four O atoms from two 2-formyl-6-meth-oxy-phenolate anions and one O atom from a perchlorate anion in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The Na(+) ion is six-coordinated by four O atoms from two 2-formyl-6-meth-oxy-phenolate ligands, one O atom of a methanol mol-ecule and one O atom of a perchlorate anion. The perchlorate anions link the Na(+) and Cu(II) ions, forming a chain along [010]. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the chains. π-π inter-actions are present between the benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.566 (2) and 3.702 (2) Å]. The O atoms of the perchlorate anion are disordered over two sets of sites, with an occupancy ratio of 0.481 (8):0.519 (8).

Project description:In the title heterodinuclear complex, [CuNa(BF(4))(C(8)H(7)O(3))(2)](n), the Cu(II) ion is four-coordinated by four O atoms of two 2-formyl-6-meth-oxy-phenolate ligands, giving rise to a square-planar geometry. The Na(+) ion is six-coordinated by four O atoms from the two ligands and two F atoms of two tetra-fluoridoborate anions. The tetra-fluoridoborate anion links the Na(+) ions, forming a one-dimensional structure along [001]. Three F atoms of the tetra-fluoridoborate anion are disordered over two sets of sites, with an occupancy ratio of 0.790 (11):0.210 (11).

Project description:The formyl-meth-oxy-nitro-phenoxide ions in the polymeric title compound, [Sn(C(7)H(7))(3)(C(8)H(6)NO(5))](n), link adjacent triorganotin(IV) cations into linear chains lying close to (101) [Sn-O = 2.1227 (12) Å and Sn← O = 2.4936 (13) Å]. The Sn(IV) atom is displaced out of the C(3)Sn girdle of the trans-C(3)SnO(2) trigonal-bipyramidal polyhedron in the direction of the covalently-bonded O atom [Sn-O-C = 137.63 (11)°] by 0.247 (1) Å; the geometry is distorted towards an octa-hedron by a remote O atom of the meth-oxy subsituent [Sn⋯O = 3.019 (1) Å].

Project description:In the title thio-cyanate-bridged polynuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu(C(10)H(12)NO(3))(NCS)](n), the Cu atom is five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry, with one phenolato O, one imino N and one hy-droxy O atom of a Schiff base ligand and one thio-cyanato N atom defining the basal plane, and with one thio-cyanato S atom occupying the apical position. In the crystal structure, pairs of adjacent complex mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into dimers. The dimers are further linked via Cu⋯S inter-actions, forming two-dimensional layers parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(12)H(9)N(2)O)(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(2)], contains two independent (2-formyl-phen-olato){2-[(pyridin-2-yl)imino-meth-yl]phenolato}copper(II) mol-ecules that form pseudocentrosymmetric dimers via inter-actions between the Cu and pyridyl N atoms of independent monomers. The square-planar geometry of the Cu atoms in the monomer thus becomes square-based pyramidal in the dimer. The crystal studied was an inversion twin, with unequal populations of 0.353 (17) and 0.647 (17).

Project description:The title compound, [Cu2(C9H10NO2)4], is built of discrete centrosymmetric dimers. The Cu(II) atoms are each five coordinated by two deprotonated Schiff base ligands that are bonded differently to the metal atoms. Of the two phenolate O atoms, one is coordinated to one Cu(II) atom, whereas another bridges the two metal atoms. The basal plane of the square pyramid around Cu(II) atoms is formed by the imino N and phenolate O atoms of the bidentate and the monodentate/bidentate Schiff base ligands. The bridging phenolate oxygen occupies the apical position of the coordination sphere with a considerably longer Cu-O bond length. In the crystal, the dimeric mol-ecules pack relative to each other in such a way that the Cu2O2 planes of adjacent dimers are orthogonal.

The Cd(II) ions are linked by double chlorine bridges alternating between one CdCl(4)(CH(3)OH)(2) and two CdCl(4)(C(15)H(15)NO(2)) octa-hedral coordination units. Additional intrachain N-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bond interactions stabilize this arrangement.

Project description:The molecule of the title compound, [Ni(4)(CH(3)O)(4)(C(8)H(7)O(3))(4)(CH(3)OH)(4)], has S(4) symmetry. Each of the four Ni(II) atoms occupies every other corner of a cube, with the alternate corners occupied by μ(3)-methano-late bridging groups linking to three Ni(II) atoms. Each Ni(II) atom is in an O(6) octa-hedral coordination environment formed by three O atoms from three μ(3)-methano-late groups, one from methanol, and two others from a bidentate 2-formyl-6-meth-oxy-phenolate ligand. The Ni-O bond distances range from 2.0020 (14) to 2.0938 (14) Å, the cis bond angles range from 81.74 (6) to 97.63°, and the trans bond angles range from 168.76 (5) to 175.22 (6)°. There are bifurcated hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the coordinated methanol OH groups and both the phenolic and meth-oxy O atoms of an adjoining 2-formyl-6-meth-oxy-phenolate moiety. In addition, there are weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions involving the meth-oxy O atoms.

Project description:In the title compound, [Na(C(6)H(5)NH)(C(4)H(10)O(2))], the Na(+) cation is coordinated by the N atoms of two anilide anions, two O atoms of a chelating 1,2-dimeth-oxy-ethane (dme) ligand and one O atom of an adjacent dme ligand. The coordination polyhedron around Na(+) corresponds to a distorted square pyramid with the N atoms of the anilide groups and the O atoms of the chelating dme unit at the base and a third O atom at the apical position. The anilide anions act as μ-bridging ligands and the 1,2-dimeth-oxy-ethane mol-ecules display a μ(2)-κ(3)-O,O' coordination mode. As a result of this connectivity, a polymeric chain structure parallel to [100] is formed, consisting of Na(2)O(2) and Na(2)N(2) four-membered rings. It should be noted that the remaining H atom of the anilide NH group is not involved in hydrogen bonding.
