ABSTRACT: The title dinuclear complex, [Cu(2)Br(2)(C(12)H(14)N(4)S(2))(2)], is located about an inversion center. The Cu(I) ion is coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two bridging Br atoms in addition to an N and an S atom from the 2-[(4,6-dimethyl-pyrimidin-2-yl)disulfan-yl]-4,6-dimethyl-pyrimidine ligand. In the crystal, ?-? stacking inter-actions are observed with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.590?(2)?Å.

In the title mol-ecule, the zigzag 3,10-diaza-6,7-disulfanyldodecyl skeleton has two dimethyl-pyrimidinylsulfanyl groups at both ends, and the aza atoms each carry a dimethyl-pyrimidinyl unit. Project description:A copper(II) complex of the non-symmetric bidentate ligand 2-{[6-(di-methyl-amino)-pyrimidin-4-yl]sulfan-yl}pyrimidine-4,6-di-amine (L1) is reported. The single-crystal X-ray structure of aqua-[aqua/chlorido-(0.49/0.51)](2-{[6-(di-methyl-amino)-pyrimidin-4-yl]sulfan-yl}pyrimidine-4,6-di-amine)-copper(II) 0.49-chloride 1.51-hydrate, [CuCl1.51(C10H13N7S)(H2O)1.49]Cl0.49·1.51H2O or [(L1)Cl1.51(H2O)1.49Cu]0.49Cl·1.51H2O, exhibits distorted square-pyramidal geometry around the metal centre, with disorder in the axial position, occupied by chloride or water. The six-membered metal-chelate ring is in a boat conformation, and short inter-molecular S⋯S inter-actions are observed. In addition to its capacity for bidentate metal coordination, the ligand has the ability to engage in further supra-molecular inter-actions as both a hydrogen-bond donor and acceptor, and multiple inter-actions with lattice solvent water mol-ecules are present in the reported structure.

Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(10)N(8)S(2)·2C(2)H(6)SO, was obtained unintentionally during an attempt to prepare a thiol-ate derivative of trimethyl-tin. The complete disulfide mol-ecule is generated by twofold rotation symmetry and the C-S-S-C torsion angle around the S-S bond is -85.70 (10)°. The mol-ecules are connected via N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds into strongly corrugated layers parallel to (001), generating an R(2) (2)(8) motif. The solvent mol-ecule, which exhibits minor disorder of its S atom [site occupancies = 0.9591 (18) and 0.0409 (18)], is linked to this layer via a pair of N-H⋯O inter-actions.

In each, the Sn(IV) cation is coordinated by two methyl and two 4,6-dimethyl-pyrimidine-2-thiol-ate anions in a distorted SnS(2)C(2) tetra-hedral geometry. In the two mol-ecules, the S-Sn-S bond angles are 87.70 (5) and 88.93 (4)°, while the C-Sn-C bond angles are 125.7 (3) and 125.9 (2)°. Weak C-H⋯N hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

Project description:The centrosymmetric title complex, [Cu(2)Br(4)(C(11)H(10)N(2)O(2))(2)]·2H(2)O, was one of three complexes isolated by slow evaporation of an acetonitrile reaction mixture of CuBr(2) with di-2-pyridyl ketone (1:1 molar ratio). The title complex contains a 1:1 metal-to-ligand ratio of copper(II) with the hydrated form of the ligand di-2-pyridylmethane-diol. The copper centers are bridged by bromide donors, leading to a Cu-Cu distance of 4.090?(6)?Å. The crystals form as non-merohedral twins with two components related by a 180° rotation around the normal to [100]; the selected sample had a twin ratio of 0.63:0.37.

The five-membered metallacycle adopts an envelope conformation with the coordinated cyclo-penta-dienyl C atom 0.4222 (4) Å out of plane. The dihedral angle between the pyrimidinyl ring and substituted cyclo-penta-dienyl ring is 21.47 (2)°. In the crystal structure, the dimeric unit is generated through the C-H⋯π contact via a crystallographic inversion centre, while the C-H⋯Cl contacts in the dimeric centre link the dichlormethane mol-ecules with the Pd complex mol-ecules.
