ABSTRACT: The Cu(II) atom in the title compound, [CuCl(2)(C(16)H(15)N(3)O)]·H(2)O, is N,N',O-chelated by the neutral Schiff base ligand and exists in a square-pyramidal geometry. It is displaced by 0.316?(1)?Å out of the square plane (r.m.s. deviation = 0.015?Å) in the direction of the apical Cl atom. The apical Cl atoms of adjacent complex units are hydrogen-bond acceptors to two water mol-ecules, the inter-action generating a centrosymmetric dimer through a cyclic R(4) (2)(8) association.

The Cu(II) atom in the title compound, [CuCl(2)(C(16)H(15)N(3)O)]·H(2)O, is N,N',O-chelated by the neutral Schiff base ligand and exists in a square-pyramidal geometry. Project description:The Cu(II) atom in the title compound, [Cu(NCS)(2)(C(16)H(15)N(3)O)], is bonded to the N atoms of two thio-cyanate ions, and is N,N'-chelated by the Schiff base ligand. The four N atoms surround the metal atom to form a distorted square; the square environment is distorted towards a square pyramid by a long Cu?O inter-action. In the crystal, two C atoms of the pyrrolidin-2-one ring are disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:The asymetric unit of the title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C17H13N2)], contains two independent mol-ecules whose conformations differ, especially in the 4-{(pyridin-4-yl)methyl-idene]amino}-phenyl unit where one is flipped by almost 180°. The cyclo-penta-dienyl rings of the ferrocene unit also exhibit different staggered conformations: in one mol-ecule the conformation is staggered by 9.43?(2)° and in the other by 24.46?(1)° from an ideal eclipsed geometry. The plane of the benzene ring is tilted away from the ferrocene group in both mol-ecules, with dihedral angles of 6.97?(1) and 10.30?(2)°. The benzene ring is also slightly twisted from the plane of the pyridine ring, with dihedral angles of 5.98?(2) and 6.51?(2)° in the two mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, [ZnCl(2)(C(18)H(14)N(4)O)], crystallizes with two mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, which differ in the tautomeric (neutral and zwitterionic) forms of the coordin-ating organic ligand. In both mol-ecules, the Zn(II) atom adopts a distorted square-pyramidal geometry by two N and one O atoms of the Schiff base ligand and two Cl atoms acting as monodentate chloride anions. The crystal packing is stabilized by N-H?N and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to the ac plane.

Project description:The reaction of N-phenyl-1-(pyridin-2-yl)methanimine with copper chloride dihydrate produced the title neutral complex, [CuCl2(C12H10N2)(H2O)]·H2O. The CuII ion is five-coordinated in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, in which the two N atoms of the bidentate Schiff base, as well as one chloro and a water mol-ecule, form the irregular base of the pyramidal structure. Meanwhile, the apical chloride ligand inter-acts through a strong hydrogen bond with a water mol-ecule of crystallization. In the crystal, mol-ecules are arranged in pairs, forming a stacking of symmetrical cyclic dimers that inter-act in turn through strong hydrogen bonds between the chloride ligands and both the coordinated and the crystallization water mol-ecules. The mol-ecular and electronic structures of the complex were also studied in detail using EPR (continuous and pulsed), FT-IR and Raman spectroscopy, as well as magnetization measurements. Likewise, Hirshfeld surface analysis was used to investigate the inter-molecular inter-actions in the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title compound, [CdCl2(C13H12N4S)]·CH3OH, the coord-ination geometry of the Cd(II) ion is slightly distorted square-pyramidal, as indicated by the ? index of 0.36?(8). The S atom, two N atoms from the pyridyl-azomethine moiety and one of the Cl atoms comprise the basal plane, while the other Cl atom occupies the apical position. The hydrazinecarbo-thio-amide moiety adopts an E conformation with respect to the azomethine bond. The solvate mol-ecule in the crystal lattice plays a major role in inter-connecting adjacent mol-ecules by means of O-H?Cl and N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. A supra-molecular three-dimensional architecture is sustained in terms of further N-H?Cl and C-H?Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, [CuCl(2)(C(13)H(19)N(3)O)]·H(2)O, the tridentate Schiff base ligand and the two Cl atoms complete a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry around the Cu(II) ion in which the three N atoms and one Cl atom are located in the basal plane and the other Cl atom is at the apical position. In the crystal, O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the complex mol-ecules and the uncoordinated water mol-ecules into infinite chains along the a axis. The chains are further connected into a three-dimensional network via C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(10)FN(3)O·H(2)O, exists in the E conformation with respect to the azomethane C=N double bond. The mol-ecule is close to planar with a maximum deviation of 0.286 (2) Å. The pyridine ring is essentially coplanar with the central C(= O)N(2)C unit [dihedral angle = 2.02 (3)°] and the phenyl ring exhibits a dihedral angle of 14.41 (10)° with respect to the central unit. The crystal structure features O-H⋯N, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bond inter-actions between the solvent water and the benzohydrazide mol-ecules, as well as C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-F⋯π [3.0833 (18) Å] inter-actions.

Project description:In the title complex, [MnCl(2)(C(13)H(13)N(3))]·H(2)O, the Mn(II) atom is in a distorted square-pyramidal environment, with an Addison ? parameter of 0.037. The coordination geometry is defined by three N-atom donors from the tridentate 2-(pyridin-2-yl)-N-(pyridin-2-yl-methyl-idene)ethanamine ligand and two terminal Cl atoms. Although the H atoms of the lattice water molecule were not located, O?O distances of 3.103?(7)?Å and O?Cl distances of 3.240?(3) and 3.482?(4)?Å suggest that hydrogen bonding is responsible for the stabilization of the crystal packing.
