Bis[?-N'-(5-bromo-3-meth-oxy-2-oxido-benzyl-idene)-2-hydroxybenzohydra-zidato]bis[(N,N-dimethyl-formamide)-copper(II)].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(15)H(11)BrN(2)O(4))(2)(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)], is derived from the reaction of N'-(5-bromo-2-hy-droxy-3-meth-oxy-benzyl-idene)-2-hy-droxy-benzohydrazide and copper nitrate in a dimethyl-formamide solution in the presence of sodium hydroxide. The compound can be regarded as a binuclear centrosymmetric complex. In the crystal, the Cu(II) atom is fivefold surrounded and adopts a distorted square-pyramidal coordination environment. An intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond stabilizes the mol-ecular conformation.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(15)H(12)N(2)O(4))(2)(C(6)H(5)N)(2)], each Cu(II) atom is chelated by the tridentate doubly deprotonated Schiff base and a pyridine mol-ecule in a nearly planar environment (r.m.s. deviation for all non-H atoms = 0.107?Å). The metal ions are bridged by one O atom from the symmetry-related Schiff base ligands, forming a centrosymmetric dinuclear copper(II) complex. The dimeric complex is linked to another dimer via weaker Cu-O inter-actions and also O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compund, C(30)H(28)N(2)O(2), a Schiff base synthesised via a condensation reaction between 4-meth-oxy-benzaldehyde and 3,3'-dimethyl-benzidine, a crystallographic twofold rotation axis passes through the mid-point of the C-C bond of the biphenyl unit. Thus, the asymmetric unit comprises one half-mol-ecule. In the biphenyl unit, the aromatic rings are twisted by 13.49?(7)° with respect to one another. The dihedral angles between the biphenyl and meth-oxy-benzene rings are 49.95?(12) and 50.06?(12)°. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H? O hydrogen bonds contribute to the stabilization of the packing.

Project description:The title compound, C(16)H(15)BrN(2)OS(2), was obtained from the condensation reaction of benzyl dithio-carbazate and 2-bromo-5-meth-oxy-lbenzaldehyde. In the mol-ecule, the bromo-meth-oxy-phenyl ring and dithio-carbazate fragment are located on the opposite sides of the C=N double bond, showing the E conformation. The dithio-carbazate fragment is approximately planar (r.m.s deviation 0.0187?Å); its mean plane is oriented with respect to the bromo-meth-oxy-phenyl and phenyl rings at 7.60?(12) and 60.08?(9)°, respectively. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N-H?S hydrogen bonds occur. A short Br?Br contact of 3.5526?(12)?Å is observed in the crystal structure.
