ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ni(C(6)H(12)N(4)O(3))(2)](NO(3))(2)·4H(2)O, the Ni(II) cation is located on an inversion center and is N,O,O'-chelated by two nitrilo-tris-(acetamide) mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The complex cations, nitrate anions and lattice water mol-ecules are connected by O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C(12)H(8)N(2))(3)](NO(3))(2)·4H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is octa-hedrally coordinated by three bidentate 1,10-phenanthroline ligands, each forming a five-membered chelate ring. In the crystal, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds are present between the complex cations, nitrate anions and water mol-ecules. O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the uncoord-inated water mol-ecules lead to the formation of a four-membered ring water cluster, with a planar configuration. There were an additional five grossly disordered water mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, which were removed by the subroutine SQUEEZE; these were were excluded in the calculation of the molecular weight, etc. ?-? stacking inter-actions between the aromatic rings are also observed [centroid-centroid distances = 3.697?(2), 3.728?(2) and 3.761?(2)?Å].

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(5)H(5)N)(2)(H(2)O)(4)](NO(3))(2), the Ni(II) ion is coordinated by two N-bonded pyridine ligands and four water mol-ecules in an octa-hedral coordination mode. The asymmetric unit consists of one Ni(II) ion located on an inversion center, as well as one pyridine ligand, one nitrate anion and two water mol-ecules in general positions. In the crystal structure, the discrete complex cations and nitrate anions are connected by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(SO4)(C10H8N2)2]·2.5H2O, is a nickel(II) complex with a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The Ni(II) atom is bonded by two O atoms of the bidentate chelating sulfate ligand and the four N atoms of two chelating 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligands. The Ni-N bond lengths range from 2.059 (3) to 2.075 (3) Å and the Ni-O bond lengths are 2.098 (3) and 2.123 (3) Å. The bipyridyl ligands are both close to planar (r.m.s. deviations of 0.254 and 0.0572 Å) and are almost orthogonal, making a dihedral angle of 82.77 (1)°. In the crystal, the complex and water mol-ecules are connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Inter-estingly, six water mol-ecules form a chain linking two complex mol-ecules via sulfate O atoms. There are also stacking inter-actions between the aromatic rings of neighbouring 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligands with shortest non-covalent contacts of 3.268 (6), 3.393 (6) and 3.435 (5) Å. One of the three unique water molecules shows half-occupation.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(C(19)H(16)I(4)N(2)O(2))], comprises half of a Schiff base complex. The Ni(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis which also bis-ects the central C atom of the 2,2-dimethyl-propane group of the ligand. The geometry around the Ni(II) atom is distorted square-planar, with a dihedral angle of 21.7?(3)° between the symmetry-related N/Ni/O coordination planes. The dihedral angle between the symmetry-related benzene rings is 27.9?(3)°. In the crystal, short inter-molecular I?I [3.8178?(9) and 3.9013?(10)?Å] inter-actions are present.

The Cu(II) atoms display a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry and are linked by two ?(2)-phenolate O atoms from the salicylate ligands and two ?(3)-hydroxo groups, forming a Cu(4)O(4) core that adopts a 'stepped-cubane' geometry. In the crystal, the cations are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds to the nitrate anions, which are in turn connected via O-H?O inter-actions to centrosymmentric water tetra-mers.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(12)H(7)N(2)O(4))(2)]·4H(2)O, the Ni atom is located at the centre of a distorted octa-hedron, formed by four N atoms and two O atoms from the same two tridentating chelated 6-carb-oxy-2,2'-bipyridine-6'-carboxyl-ate (L) ligands. Face-to-face ?-stacking inter-actions between inversion-related pyridine rings with centroid-centroid distances of 3.548?(3) and 3.662?(3)?Å (perpendicular distances between the respective rings are 3.314 and 3.438?Å) are found. Inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds between water mol-ecules and L ligands form R(5) (3)(10), R(6) (5)(14) and R(5) (5)(12) rings and also a centrosymmetric cage-like unit of water mol-ecules, which link eight adjacent Ni(II) centers, forming a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The title compound, {[Co(C10H8N2)2(H2O)2](NO3)2·4H2O} n , (C10H8N2 = 4,4'-bipyridine = 4,4'-bpy) is a layered coordination polymer built up from a cationic square grid extending in (101) enclosing uncoordinating nitrate ions and water mol-ecules. The Co(II) ion has site symmetry 2 and one of the 4,4'-bpy ligands is generated by twofold symmetry [two N atoms and two C atoms lie on the rotation axis and the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings is 45.66 (5)°]. The other 4,4'-bpy ligand is generated by a crystallographic inversion center. The Co(II) ion exhibits a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry defined by two O atoms of two coordinating water mol-ecules and four N atoms from four bridging 4,4'-bpy ligands. The structure is consolidated by O-H⋯O, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Ni(C₁₀H₈N₂)(H₂O)₄]SO₄, consists of a complex [Ni(bipy)(H₂O)₄]²⁺ cation (bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine) and a non-coordinating [SO₄]²⁻ anion. The Ni(II) atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry defined by the two N atoms of the bipy ligand and four water O atoms. The crystal structure contains extensive classical O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which link the ions into a two-dimensional array in the ab plane. Project description:In the title Schiff base complex, [Ni(C(18)H(14)Cl(4)N(2)O(2))(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)], the geometry around the Ni(II) atom is distorted octa-hedral. It is coordinated by the N(2)O(2) donor atoms of the tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand and the O atoms of two dimethyl-formamide mol-ecules, which are cis to one another. The benzene rings are almost normal to each other [dihedral angle = 88.60 (14)°]. The various intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds make S(5) and S(6) ring motifs. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by pairs of weak C-H⋯Cl inter-actions, forming inversion dimers.
