(2,2'-Bi-pyridine-?(2) N,N')bis-(nitrato-?(2) O,O')copper(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cu(NO3)2(C10H8N2)], the Cu(II) cation is chelated by two nitrate anions and by one 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand in a distorted N2O4 octa-hedral geometry. The dihedral angle between the pyridine rings is 1.92?(11)°. In the crystal, ?-? stacking between parallel pyridine rings of adjacent complex mol-ecules is observed, the centroid-centroid distance being 3.6788?(19)?Å. Weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds further link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(NO(3))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]ClO(4), the five-coordinated Cu(II) atom has a distorted square-pyramidal CuN(4)O environment; the O atom is in the axial position whereas the N atoms from two bipyridine (bipy) ligands are in the equatorial plane. In the crystal, mol-ecules are assembled by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and π-π inter-actions between bipy groups [centroid-centroid distances = 3.7686 (16) and 3.7002 (16) Å] into a three-dimensional network. The nitrite anion is equally disordered over two sets of sites.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the mononuclear title compound, [Mn(NCS)2(C10H8N2)2]·C10H8N2, the Mn(II) cation is coordin-ated in an all-cis configuration by two N-bound thio-cyanate anions and two 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligands within a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment. The asymmetric unit consists of one Mn(II) cation, two thio-cyanate anions and two 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligands, as well as two non-coordinating 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligands that are each located on centres of inversion. In the crystal structure, the discrete [Mn(NCS)2(C10H8N2)2] complex mol-ecules are arranged in such a way that cavities are formed, in which the solvent 2,2'-bi-pyridine mol-ecules are located. Apart from van der Waals forces, there are no remarkable inter-molecular inter-actions present in the crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C2H6OS)4(C10H8N2)](ClO4)2, contains a Cu(II) ion with a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment, bonded by four O atoms of the monodentate dimethyl sulfoxide ligands and two N atoms of the bidentate chelating 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand. The equatorial Cu-N and Cu-O bond lengths are in the range 1.979 (2)-1.998 (3) Å. The axial Cu-O bond distances are 2.365 (2) and 2.394 (2) Å. In the crystal, the complex cations and perchlorate anions are connected by numerous C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which leads to additional stabilization of the structure. The perchlorate anion is disordered over two sets of sites with a 0.716 (3):0.284 (3) occupancy ratio.

One of the uncoordinated water mol-ecules is close to an inversion center and is disordered equally over two sites. Intra-molecular N-H?N and N-H?O inter-actions are present. An extensive hydrogen-bonding network of types N-H?O, O-H?O, O-H?N and O-H?S consolidates the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title binuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu2(ClO4)2(OH)2(C10H8N2)2], the Cu(II) ion is coordinated in the form of a Jahn-Teller distorted octahedron by two bi-pyridine N atoms, two perchlorate O atoms and two hydroxide O atoms, and displays a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The mol-ecule belongs to the symmetry point group C 2h . The Cu(II) ion is located on a twofold rotation axis and the hydroxide and perchlorate ligands are located on a mirror plane. Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(6)H(6)N(4))(2)](C(9)H(5)N(4)O)(2), the Cu(2+) ion (site symmetry ) is coordinated by two N,N'-bidentate 2,2'-biimidazole (H(2)biim) ligands, generating a square-planar CuN(4) geometry. The dihedral angle between the aromatic rings in the ligand is 0.70?(9)°. In the polynitrile 1,1,3,3-tetra-cyano-2-eth-oxy-propenide (tcnoet) anion, the C-N, C-C and C-O bond lengths indicate extensive electronic delocalization. An alternative description for the metal-ion geometry is an extremely distorted CuN(6) octa-hedron, with two N-bonded tcnoet anions completing the coordination. In the crystal, the components are linked by N-H?N and C-H?N inter-actions.
