Bis(N-nitroso-N-pentyl-hydroxy-laminato-?(2) O,O')copper(II).

ABSTRACT: In the centrosymmetric title compound, [Cu(C5H11N2O2)2], the Cu(2+) ion, located on an inversion centre (Wyckoff position 2b), is in a square-planar environment, surounded by four O atoms of the N-O groups of two N-nitroso-N-pentyl-hydroxy-laminate ligands [Cu-O = 1.9042?(17) and 1.9095?(16)?Å]. The hy-droxy-laminate monoanions are bidentate chelating ligands. The Cu(2+) cations form stacks along [010], with inter-molecular Cu?N contacts of 3.146?(2) and 3.653?(2)?Å.

In the centrosymmetric title compound, [Cu(C5H11N2O2)2], the Cu(2+) ion, located on an inversion centre (Wyckoff position 2b), is in a square-planar environment, surounded by four O atoms of the N-O groups of two N-nitroso-N-pentyl-hydroxy-laminate ligands [Cu-O = 1.9042 (17) and 1.9095 (16) Å]. The geometries of the five-coordinate Pb(II) atoms in the two independent mol-ecules are ?-octa-hedral; if more remote Pb?O inter-actions are also considered, the coordination number is increased to six for one mol-ecule and to seven for the other. Their coordination polyhedra are ill defined in the chain motif, which runs along [100].

Project description:In the centrosymmetric title compound, [Ni(C7H6FN2O2)2(H2O)2], the Ni(II) cation is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment and is surrounded by four O atoms from the N-O groups of the organic ligands [Ni-O = 2.0179?(13) and 2.0283?(12)?Å], and two water mol-ecules [Ni-O = 2.0967?(14)?Å]. The N-(2-fluoro-benz-yl)-N-nitroso-hydroxy-laminate monoanions act as bidentate chelating ligands. In the crystal, the Ni cations in the columns are shifted in such a way that the coordinated water mol-ecules are involved in the formation of hydrogen bonds with the O atoms of the organic species of neighbouring mol-ecules. Thus, a two-dimensional network parallel to (100) is built up by hydrogen-bonded molecules.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(13)H(16)NO(2))(2)], is a mononuclear copper(II) complex derived from the Schiff base ligand 2-(cyclo-pentyl-imino-meth-yl)-5-meth-oxy-phenol and copper acetate. Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(5)H(10)NO(3))(2)], was obtained unintentionally as the product of an attempted synthesis of a Cu/Cd mixed-metal mixed-anion complex using zerovalent copper, cadmium(II) oxide and two ammonium salts in the presence of 2-dimethyl-amino-ethanol in acetonitrile, in air. The mol-ecule is centrosymmetric with two monodeprotonated N-(2-hydroxy-ethyl)-N-methyl-glycines coordinated to the metal in a tridentate mode, giving a bicyclic chelate with two distorted five-membered rings. The Cu(II) ion possesses a distorted octa-hedral geometry, with the N and the O atoms from the carboxyl-ate groups in the equatorial plane. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions from the alkoxide functions of the ligand through the inversion centre form columns of mol-ecules propagated along the a axis.

Copper(II)-Mediated Iodination of 1-Nitroso-2-naphthol.

Project description:The 3-Iodo-1-nitrosonaphthalene-2-ol (I-NON) was obtained by the copper(II)-mediated iodination of 1-nitroso-2-naphthol (NON). The suitable reactants and optimized reaction conditions, providing 94% NMR yield of I-NON, included the usage of Cu(OAc)2·H2O and 1:2:8 CuII/NON/I2 molar ratio between the reactants. The obtained I-NON was characterized by elemental analyses (C, H, N), high-resolution ESI+-MS, 1H and 13C{1H} NMR, FTIR, UV-vis spectroscopy, TGA, and X-ray crystallography (XRD). The copper(II) complexes bearing deprotonated I-NON were prepared as follows: cis-[Cu(I-NON-H)(I-NON)](I3) (1) was obtained by the reaction between Cu(NON-H)2 and I2 in CHCl3/MeOH, while trans-[Cu(I-NON-H)2] (2) was synthesized from I-NON and Cu(OAc)2 in MeOH. Crystals of trans-[Cu(I-NON-H)2(THF)2] (3) and trans-[Cu(I-NON-H)2(Py)2] (4) were precipitated from solutions of 2 in CHCl3/THF and Py/CHCl3/MeOH mixtures, respectively. The structures of 1 and 3-4 were additionally verified by X-ray crystallography. The characteristic feature of the structures of 1 and 3 is the presence of intermolecular halogen bonds with the involvement of the iodine center of the metal-bound deprotonated I-NON. The nature of the I···I and I···O contacts in the structures of 1 and 3, correspondingly, were studied theoretically at the DFT (PBE0-D3BJ) level using the QTAIM, ESP, ELF, NBO, and IGM methods.

Inter-molecular C-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the chains into a three-dimensional structure.
