Crystal structure of 1H,1'H-[2,2'-biimid-azol]-3-ium hydrogen tartrate hemi-hydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the crystal of the title hydrated salt, C6H7N4 (+)·C4H5O6 (-)·0.5H2O, the bi-imidazole monocation, 1H,1'H-[2,2'-biimidazol]-3-ium, is hydrogen bonded, via N-H?O, O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds, to the hydrogen tartrate anion and the water mol-ecule, which is located on a twofold rotation axis, forming sheets parallel to (001). The sheets are linked via C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional structure. There are also C=O?? inter-actions present [O?? distances are 3.00?(9) and 3.21?(7)?Å], involving the carbonyl O atoms and the imidazolium ring, which may help to consolidate the structure. In the cation, the dihedral angle between the rings is 11.6?(2)°.

Project description:In the title mol-ecular salt, C(4)H(10)NO(+)·C(4)H(5)O(6) (-), the morpholinium cation adopts a chair conformation. The conformation of the C-C-C-C backbone of the monotartrate anion is close to anti [torsion angle = 173.18 (17)°], which is supported by two intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, the components are linked by N-H-O and O-H-O hydrogen bonds, generating (001) sheets.

Crystal structure of undeca-potassium bis-[α-hemi-penta-hydrogen hexa-molybdoplatinate(IV)] dodeca-hydrate.

Project description:The title compound, K11[α-Pt(μ3-OH)2(μ3-OH0.5)Mo6(μ3-O)3(μ2-O)6O12]2·12H2O (simplified chemical formula K11[H2.5PtMo6O24]2·12H2O), containing the well-known Anderson-type heteropolyoxomolybdate anion, was obtained by hydro-thermal reaction at pH = ca 6.0. The complete polyanion dimer has 2/m symmetry. The locations of the H atoms with respect to protonated O atoms were obtained from difference Fourier maps, and confirmed by the inter-polyanion hydrogen bonds, bond-length elongation and bond-valence sums (BVSs). The title heteropolyanion has two types of protonated O atoms viz. μ3-OH, {Mo2-O(H)-Pt} and μ3-OH0.5 (disordered H atom). The [H2.5α-PtMo6O24](5.5-) polyanion forms a dimer, [(H2.5α-PtMo6O24)2](11-), held together by two pairs of μ3-O-H⋯μ1-O and of one disordered μ3-O⋯H⋯μ3-O hydrogen bonds. Three K(+) ions are located on special positions (two on twofold rotation axes, one on a mirror plane), and two K(+) ions are located on general positions with a reduced occupancy of 0.5. The remaining K(+) ion has a reduced occupancy of 0.25 for charge balance and reasonable displacement parameters. As a result, the numbers of K(+) and H(+) ions in the title compound are 5.5 and 2.5, respectively.

Project description:The title solvated salt, C29H41N2 (+)·Br(-)·2CH2Cl2 was obtained from the reaction of the Arduengo-type carbene 1,3-bis-(2,6-diiso-propyl-phen-yl)-1,3-dihydro-4,5-dimethyl-2H-imidazol-2-ylidene with Si2Br6 in di-chloro-methane. The complete cation is generated by a crystallographic mirror plane and the dihedral angle between the five-membered ring and the benzene ring is 89.8?(6)°; the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 40.7?(2)°. The anion also lies on the mirror plane and both di-chloro-methane mol-ecules are disordered across the mirror plane over two equally occupied orientations. In the crystal, the cations are linked to the anions via C-H?Br hydrogen bonds.

The asymmetric unit contains two 5-amino-4-amino-carbonyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium cations, one edge-shared non-centrosymmetric biocta-hedral [Bi(2)C1(9)(C(4)H(7)N(4)O)](2-) dianion and a water mol-ecule. In the dianion, the planar 5-amino-4-amino-carbonyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium ligand occupies an equatorial site and is inclined at an angle of 75.7 (2)° to the Bi(2)(μ-C1)(2) plane. The salt forms a three-dimensional network arising from hydrogen bonds between cations, anions and water mol-ecules.

Project description:Single crystals of the title mol-ecular salt, C4H7N2 (+)·HC2O4 (-)·2H2O, were isolated from the reaction of 2-methyl-1H-imidazole and oxalic acid in a 1:1 molar ratio in water. In the crystal, the cations and anions are positioned alternately along an infinite [010] ribbon and linked together through bifurcated N-H?(O,O) hydrogen bonds. The water mol-ecules of crystallization link the chains into (10-1) bilayers, with the methyl groups of the cations organized in an isotactic manner.

Project description:The title coordination polymer, {[Co2(C15H7O7)(OH)(C14H14N4)]·0.25H2O} n , was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit contains two Co(2+) ions, one L (3-) anion originating from 5-(4-carb-oxy-phen-oxy)isophthalic acid (H3 L), one OH(-) ligand, one 1,4-bis-[(1H-imidazol-l-yl)meth-yl]benzene (bix) ligand and one disordered lattice water mol-ecule (occupancy 0.25). The two Co(2+) ions have different environments. One has an octa-hedral O4N2 coordin-ation sphere, defined by four O atoms from three carboxyl-ate groups and one OH(-) ligand, and two N atoms from two symmetry-related bix ligands. The other has a trigonal-bipyramidal O5 coordination sphere resulting from three carboxyl-ate groups and two OH(-) ligands. The dihedral angles between the two benzene rings in the L (3-) ligand and between the benzene ring and the two imidazole rings in the bix ligand are 67.05?(15), 75.27?(17) and 82.05?(17)°, respectively. Four neighbouring Co(2+) ions are linked by six carboxyl-ate groups and two ? 3-OH ligands, forming a butterfly-shaped secondary building unit (SBU). These SBUs are connected by L (3-) anions into layers parallel to (1-10). Adjacent layers are cross-linked by the bix ligands, forming a three-dimensional framework that has a bimodal (3,8)-connected tfz-d topology. The disordered lattice water mol-ecule is located in the voids of the framework and has O?O and O?N contacts of 2.81?(2) and 2.95?(2)?Å, suggesting medium-strength hydrogen bonds. The title compound may be a good candidate for artificial eye lenses.
