Crystal structure of di-?-isobutyrato-?(4) O:O'-bis-[cis-di-chlorido-(dimethyl sulfoxide-?S)rhenium(III)].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Re2(C3H7COO)2Cl4{(CH3)2SO}2], comprises binuclear complex mol-ecules [Re-Re = 2.24502?(13)?Å] involving cis-oriented double carboxyl-ate bridges, four equatorial chloride ions and two weakly bonded O atoms from dimethyl sulfoxide ligands in the axial positions at the Re(III) atoms. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into corrugated layers parallel to (101) by very weak C-H?Cl and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. C-H?Cl hydrogen bonding provides the links between layers to consolidate a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [U(2)Cl(4)O(4)(C(2)H(6)OS)(4)], the compound has a centrosymmetric dimeric structure bridged by two chloride anions. Each U(VI) atom is seven-coordinate in a penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. In the equatorial plane of the uranyl unit there are two O atoms from non-adjacent dimethyl sulfoxides and three chloride ions (of which two chlorides are bridging). The compound is of inter-est as an anhydrous starting material of the uran-yl(VI) ion.

Project description:The reaction of di-chlorido-tetra-kis-(dimethyl sulfoxide)-ruthen-ium(II) with N,N-bis[(pyridin-2-yl)meth-yl]methyl-amine aff-ords the title complex, [RuCl2(C13H15N3)(C2H6OS)]. The asymmetric unit contains a well-ordered complex mol-ecule. The N,N-bis-[(pyridin-2-yl)meth-yl]methyl-amine (bpma) ligand binds the cation through its two pyridyl N atoms and one aliphatic N atom in a facial manner. The coordination sphere of the low-spin d (6) Ru(II) is distorted octahedral. The dimethyl sulfoxide (dmso) ligand coordinates to the cation through its S atom and is cis to the aliphatic N atom. The two chloride ligands occupy the remaining sites. The bpma ligand is folded with the dihedral angle between the mean planes passing through its two pyridine rings being 64.55 (8)°. The two N-Ru-N bite angles of the ligand at 81.70 (7) and 82.34 (8)° illustrate the distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry of the Ru(II) cation. Two neighboring molecules are weakly associated through mutual intermolecular hydrogen bonding involving the O atom and one of the methyl groups of the dmso ligand. One of the chloride ligands is also weakly hydrogen bonded to a pyridyl H atom of another molecule.

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(CH3)2Cl2(CH4N2S)2], crystallizes with two half-mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. Both mol-ecules are completed by inversion symmetry with the two Sn(IV) atoms located on inversion centers. The metal atoms have distorted octa-hedral coordination environments defined by two Cl atoms, two C atoms of methyl groups and two thio-urea S atoms. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via N-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional structure.

In the crystal, two complex mol-ecules and two water mol-ecules constitute hydrogen-bonded dimers, while an extensive hydrogen-bonding network involving the groups of the zwitterionic ligand is important for generation of the framework. An additional partially occupied water molecule is disordered over two sets of sites about a symmetry centre with a site-occupancy ratio of 0.3:0.2.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd2(C6H9N3O2)2Cl6], the coordination polyhedra around the CdII cations are distorted trigonal bipyramids. Two of the chloride ions (one axial and one equatorial) are bridging to the other metal atom, leading to a Cd⋯Cd separation of 3.9162 (4) Å. The O atom of the l-histidinium cation lies in an axial site. In the crystal, numerous N-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯O, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. Theoretical calculations and spectroscopic data are available as supporting information.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title polymeric complex, {[Ag(2)Cl(CH(4)N(2)S)(2)]NO(3)}(n), consists of a binuclear cationic complex and a nitrate counter-ion. The cationic complex contains two bridging thio-urea (Tu) ligands and a triply bridging μ(3)-Cl anion. The latter is probably released from 2-amino-ethane-thiol hydro-chloride during the synthesis. The coordination environment around the two Ag(I) atoms is different; one is trigonal planar, being coordinated by two thio-urea ligands through the S atoms and to one Cl(-) ion, while in the other the Ag(I) atom is tetra-hedrally coordinated by two thio-urea ligands through the S atoms and to two Cl(-) ions. These units aggregate through the Cl(-) anion and the Tu S atoms, forming a chain propagating in [100]. In the crystal structure, the polymeric chains are linked via N-H⋯O and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a double layer two-dimensional network propagating in (011).

Project description:1,2-Dimethyl-5-nitro-imidazole (dimetridazole, dimet) is a compound that belongs to a class of nitro-imidazole drugs that are effective at inhibiting the activity of certain parasites and bacteria. However, there are few reports that describe structures of compounds that feature metals complexed by dimet. Therefore, we report here that dimet reacts with CuCl2·H2O to yield a chloride-bridged copper(II) dimer, [Cu2Cl4(C5H7N3O2)4] or [Cu(μ-Cl)Cl(dimet)2]2. In this mol-ecule, the CuII ions are coordinated in an approximately trigonal-bipyramidal manner, and the mol-ecule lies across an inversion center. The dihedral angle between the imidazole rings in the asymmetric unit is 4.28 (7)°. Compared to metronidazole, dimetridazole lacks the hy-droxy-ethyl group, and thus cannot form inter-molecular O⋯H hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. Instead, [Cu(μ-Cl)Cl(dimet)2]2 exhibits weak inter-molecular inter-actions between the hydrogen atoms of C-H groups and (i) oxygen in the nitro groups, and (ii) the terminal and bridging chloride ligands. The unit cell contains four disordered aceto-nitrile mol-ecules. These were modeled as providing a diffuse contribution to the overall scattering by SQUEEZE [Spek (2015 ▸). Acta Cryst. C71, 9-18], which identified two voids, each with a volume of 163 Å3 and a count of 46 electrons, indicative of a total of four aceto-nitrile mol-ecules. These aceto-nitrile mol-ecules are included in the chemical formula to give the expected calculated density and F(000).

The three independent Fe(II) atom have a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry comprising two bridging chloride anions and four N atoms from two bis-(3,5-dimethyl-pyrazol-1-yl)methane ligands. The Fe(III) atom has a tetra-hedral coordination geometry comprising four chloride anions.
