Di-?-chlorido-bis-[chloridobis(dimethyl sulfoxide)dioxidouranium(VI)].

ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, [U(2)Cl(4)O(4)(C(2)H(6)OS)(4)], the compound has a centrosymmetric dimeric structure bridged by two chloride anions. Each U(VI) atom is seven-coordinate in a penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. In the equatorial plane of the uranyl unit there are two O atoms from non-adjacent dimethyl sulfoxides and three chloride ions (of which two chlorides are bridging). The compound is of inter-est as an anhydrous starting material of the uran-yl(VI) ion.

Project description:The title compound, [Re2(C3H7COO)2Cl4{(CH3)2SO}2], comprises binuclear complex mol-ecules [Re-Re = 2.24502 (13) Å] involving cis-oriented double carboxyl-ate bridges, four equatorial chloride ions and two weakly bonded O atoms from dimethyl sulfoxide ligands in the axial positions at the Re(III) atoms. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into corrugated layers parallel to (101) by very weak C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding provides the links between layers to consolidate a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [U(NO(3))(2)O(2)(C(10)H(17)Cl(3)N(3)O(2)P)(2)], is composed of centrosymmetric [UO(2)(L)(2)(NO(3))(2)] mol-ecules {L is N-[bis-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)phosphor-yl]-2,2,2-trichloro-acetamide, C(10)H(17)Cl(3)N(3)O(2)P}. The U(VI) ion, located on an inversion center, is eight-coordinated with axial oxido ligands and six equatorial oxygen atoms of the phosphoryl and nitrate groups in a slightly distorted hexa-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. One of the pyrrolidine fragments in the ligand is disordered over two conformation (occupancy ratio 0.58:0.42). Intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the amine and nitrate groups are found.

Project description:The SnIV atom in the title diorganotin compound, [Sn(C7H6F)2Cl2(C2H6OS)2], is located on a centre of inversion, resulting in the C2Cl2O2 donor set having an all-trans disposition of like atoms. The coordination geometry approximates an octa-hedron. The crystal features C-H?F, C-H?Cl and C-H?? inter-actions, giving rise to a three-dimensional network. The respective influences of the Cl?H/H?Cl and F?H/H?F contacts to the mol-ecular packing are clearly evident from the analysis of the Hirshfeld surface.

The coordination polyhedron of the Fe(III) atoms can be described as distorted octa-hedral, with four Fe-O, one Fe-N and one Fe-Cl coordination bonds. There are disordered fragments in the two coordinating L ligands: the trichloro-methyl group is rotationally disordered between two orientations [occupancy ratio 0.567?(15):0.433?(15)] in one ligand, and a meth-yl(phen-yl)amine fragment is disordered over two conformations [occupancy ratio 0.60?(4):0.40?(4)] in the other ligand. In the crystal structure, intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the amine and nitrate groups are observed.

The dimethyl sulfoxide and water mol-ecules form linear chains along [100] by O-H?O and O-H?S hydrogen bonds, generating eight- and 12-membered rings. In addition, the 4,4-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand exhibits ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.8741?(15) and 3.8353?(15)?Å]. The DMSO solvent is disordered and was refined with an occupancy ratio of 0.866?(3):0.134?(3).
