(Di-2-pyridyl sulfide-?N,N')diiodidozinc(II).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [ZnI(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2)S)], contains a six-membered chelate ring adopting a boat conformation in which the Zn atom is coordinated by two iodide ions and by the two pyridyl N atoms of a single di-2-pyridyl sulfide ligand within a slightly distorted tetra-hedron. The Zn, S and I atoms are located on a crystallographic mirror plane. As usual for this type of complex, the sulfide group does not participate in zinc coordination. The dihedral angle between the two pyridine rings is 60.1?(1)°.

Project description:In the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2)S)(2)](n), the Co(II) atom is located on an inversion centre and is six-coordinated by four N atoms of four symmetry-related di-4-pyridyl sulfide ligands, and two Cl atoms in trans positions, in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The bridging bidentate di-4-pyridyl sulfide ligands link the Co(II) centres into a three-dimensional network. The four coordinating pyridine groups are donors and acceptors (N atoms) for intra-molecular C-H?N and C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(SO(4))(C(10)H(9)N(3))(CH(3)OH)], is a mononuclear species with the Cu(II) ion in a Jahn-Teller-distorted '4 + 1' square-pyramidal geometry. The basal plane is defined by the pyridyl N-atom donors of the bipyridyl-amine (bpa) ligand and two O-atom donors of the sulfate ligand. The coordination geometry is completed by the axial coordination of a methanol O-atom donor. The axial bond length displays the usual elongation: Cu-O(axial) = 2.168?(2), Cu-O(basal) = 2.016?(2) (average) and Cu-N(basal) = 1.951?(3)?Å (average). Project description:The Pd(II) ion in the title complex, [PdCl(2)(C(14)H(10)N(4))], has a slightly distorted square-planar environment defined by the two pyridine N atoms of the chelating 2,3-di-2-pyridyl-pyrazine ligand and two chloride anions. The pyridine rings are considerably inclined to the least-squares plane of the PdCl(2)N(2) unit [maximum deviation = 0.073?(1)?Å], with dihedral angles of 64.19?(9) and 66.55?(9)°. The pyrazine ring is almost perpendicular to this plane and the dihedral angle is 88.2?(1)°. Two independent inter-molecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, both involving the same Cl atom as a hydrogen-bond acceptor, give rise to chains running along the a and b axes, generating a layer structure extending parallel to (001). Mol-ecules are stacked in columns along the a axis. Along the b axis, successive mol-ecules stack in opposite directions.
