Di-?-methacrylato-bis-[diaquabis(meth-acryl-ato)europium(III)] methacrylic acid disolvate.

ABSTRACT: In the title centrosymmetric complex, [Eu(2)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(6)(H(2)O)(4)]·2C(4)H(6)O(2), the unique Eu(III) cation is coordinated by seven carb-oxylate O atoms from four methacrylate ligands and two water mol-ecules in a slightly disorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic environment. Two Eu(III) ions are bridged by carboxyl-ate groups, forming a dinuclear complex. The formula unit also contains two mol-ecules of methacrylic acid. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked via inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming one-dimensional chains propagating along the b-axis direction.

Project description:The title compound, [Eu(C(12)H(9.33)N(2)O)(3)]NO(3), was obtained by the reaction of Eu(NO(3))·3H(2)O and the Schiff base ligand 2-(2-pyridylimino-meth-yl)phenol. The Eu atom is located on a threefold rotation axis and is nine-coordinated by three tridentate Schiff base ligands in a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The O atom at the phenol hydr-oxy group is partially deprotonated and the H atoms are modelled with one-third occupancy according to the space group R. Offset face-to-face ?-? [centroid-centroid distance = 3.886?(3)?Å] and edge-to-face C-H?? inter-actions are found between adjacent mol-ecules. An intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond is also present.

Project description:The title compound, {(C(4)H(12)N(2))[Bi(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n) or {(pipzH(2))[Bi(2)(pydc)(4)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), where pydcH(2) is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and pipz is piperazine, was obtained by reaction of Bi(NO(3))(3)·5H(2)O with (pipzH(2))(pydc-H)(2)·3H(2)O in a 1:2 molar ratio in aqueous solution. There are two independent Bi(III) atoms in the structure, one of which is eight-coordinate with a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry, and another which is nine-coordinate with a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The carboxyl-ate groups of the (pydc)(2-) ligands link dinuclear [Bi(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)](2-) units into one-dimensional coordin-ation polymers. The pipzH(2) (2+) cations (site symmetry ) and non-coordinated water mol-ecules lie between these polymers, forming N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds to the O atoms of the carboxylate groups.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(6)H(16)N)(2)[Fe(2)(C(4)H(2)N(2)S(2))(4)]·2CH(4)O, the [Fe(III)(pdt)(2)](-) anion (pdt is pyrazine-2,3-dithiol-ate) forms a centrosymmetric dimer supported by two Fe(III)-S bonds [Fe-S = 2.4787 (4) Å]. In the crystal structure, dimers form a one-dimensional stack along the b axis via π-π stacking inter-actions, the inter-planar separation between adjacent dimers being 3.51 (2) Å. The methanol solvent mol-ecule is involved in two hydrogen bonds in which the hydroxyl group acts as a hydrogen-bond donor to the N atom of a pdt ligand and the O atom acts as an acceptor for the NH group of the triethyl-ammonium cation.

Project description:The title structures, [Zn2(C3H6NS2)4(C14H14N4O2)]·2C3H7NO (I) and [Zn2(C7H14NS2)4(C14H14N4O2)] (II), each feature a bidentate, bridging bipyridyl-type ligand encompassing a di-amide group. In (I), the binuclear compound is disposed about a centre of inversion, leading to an open conformation, while in (II), the complete mol-ecule is completed by the application of a twofold axis of symmetry so that the bridging ligand has a U-shape. In each of (I) and (II), the di-thio-carbamate ligands are chelating with varying degrees of symmetry, so the zinc atom is within an NS4 set approximating a square-pyramid for (I) and a trigonal-bipyramid for (II). The solvent di-methyl-formaide (DMF) mol-ecules in (I) connect to the bridging ligand via amide-N-H?O(DMF) and various amide-, DMF-C-H?O(amide, DMF) inter-actions. The resultant three-mol-ecule aggregates assemble into a three-dimensional architecture via C-H??(pyridyl, chelate ring) inter-actions. In (II), undulating tapes sustained by amide-N-H?O(amide) hydrogen bonding lead to linear supra-molecular chains with alternating mol-ecules lying to either side of the tape; no further directional inter-actions are noted in the crystal.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the solvated title complex, [Ir(C11H8N)2(C15H14NO3)]·2CH2Cl2, consists of two complex mol-ecules together with four di-chloro-methane solvent mol-ecules, one of which is disordered. In each complex mol-ecule, the IrIII ion has a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment defined by two 2-phenyl-pyridine ligands, through two phenyl C and two pyridine N atoms, and by one N,O-bidentate 2-[(2,4-di-meth-oxy-phenyl-imino)-meth-yl]phenolate anion. The IrIII ions lie almost in the equatorial planes with deviations of 0.0396 (17) and 0.0237 (17) Å, respectively, for the two complex mol-ecules. In both complex mol-ecules, the two 2-phenyl-pyridine ligands are nearly perpendicular to each other [dihedral angles between the least-squares-planes of 89.91 (11) and 85.13 (11)°]. In the crystal, inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions as well as inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-actions are present, leading to a three-dimensional network structure. One of the four dichlormethane solvent mol-ecules shows disorder over two sets of sites [occupancy ratio 0.79 (2):0.21 (2)].
