Project description:In the title compound, [ReBr(C(12)H(9)IN(2))(CO)(3)], the coordination geometry of the Re(I) ion is a distorted fac-ReC(3)BrN(2) octa-hedron, arising from the N,N'-bidentate ligand, a bromide ion and a facial arrangement of three carbonyl ligands. The dihedral angle between the aromatic rings in the 4-iodo-N-(pyridin-2-yl-methyl-idene)aniline ligand is 46.2 (3)°. The bromide ion and its corresponding trans CO mol-ecule are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.966 (3):0.034 (3) ratio.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C6H5ClIN, the amino group engages in N-H⋯N hydrogen bonding, creating [100] chains. A Cl⋯I contact is observed [3.7850 (16) Å]. The parallel planes of neigbouring mol-ecules reveal highly offset π-stacking characterized by a centroid-centroid distance of 4.154 (1), a centroid-to-plane distance of 3.553 (3) and ring-offset slippage of 2.151 (6) Å.

Project description:In title compound, C(12)H(9)IN(2)O(2)S, the nitro group is rotated slightly, by 8.91 (3)°, out of the plane of the aromatic ring to which it is bonded. Between the two aromatic rings the CSN plane is at a dihedral angle of 84.0 (7)° to the HNC plane. Mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O inter-actions into a double helical supra-molecular architecture. There are no iodo-nitro, π-π or C-H⋯π(arene) inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(6)INS, is essentially planar, the largest deviation from the mean plane being for the I atom [0.075 (3) Å]. The crystal structure is mainly stabilized by inter-molecular C-I⋯N halogen bonds, forming zigzag supra-molecular chains in [10]. Relatively short off-set π-π contacts [centroid-centroid distance = 3.758 (2) Å] between the thia-zole rings of inversion-related mol-ecules link neighbouring chains and provide the secondary inter-actions for building the crystal structure.

The least-squares plane of the di-methyl-amino group makes a dihedral angle of 1.3 (2)° with the ring to which it is attached. The dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 11.70 (2)°. The crystal structure features weak C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(16)H(13)IO(2)S, was prepared by the oxidation of 5-iodo-7-methyl-3-methyl-sulfanyl-2-phenyl-1-benzofuran with 3-chloro-peroxy-benzoic acid. The phenyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 27.17 (9)° with the plane of the benzofuran fragment, with the O atom and the methyl group of the methyl-sulfinyl substituent lying on opposite sides of this plane. The crystal structure exhibits inter-molecular C-H⋯I inter-actions, and an I⋯O halogen bond of 3.107 (2) Å with a nearly linear C-I⋯O angle of 173.73 (6)°.
