Lithium manganese(II) diaqua-boro-phosphate monohydrate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, LiMn(H(2)O)(2)[BP(2)O(8)]·H(2)O, is built up of an open framework of helical borophosphate ribbons inter-connected by MnO(4)(H(2)O)(2) octa-hedra, forming one-dimensional channels along [001] occupied by Li(+) cations and disordered H(2)O mol-ecules (site occupancy 0.5). The Li cations reside in two partially occupied sites [occupancies = 0.42?(3) and 0.289?(13)] near the helices.

Project description:The title borophosphate LiNi(H(2)O)(2)[BP(2)O(8)]·H(2)O was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The crystal structure is isotypic with the Mg analogue and features helical [BP(2)O(8)](3-) borophosphate ribbons, constructed by BO(4) (2 symmetry) and PO(4) tetra-hedra. The borate groups share all their oxygen apices with adjacent phosphate tetra-hedra. The ribbons are connected via Ni(2+) cations that are located on twofold rotation axes. The cations have a slightly distorted octa-hedral oxygen coordination by four O atoms from the anion and by two water mol-ecules. The voids within the helices are occupied by Li(+) cations, likewise located on twofold rotation axes, in an irregular environment of five O atoms. The structure is stabilized by O-H?O hydrogen bonds between coordinated or uncoordinated water mol-ecules and O atoms that are part of the helices.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [MnI(C(24)H(16)N(6))(H(2)O)(2)]I·H(2)O, consists of a cationic Mn(II) complex, an I(-) anion and a solvent water mol-ecule. In the complex, the Mn(II) ion is six-coordinated in a considerably distorted octa-hedral environment defined by three N atoms of the tridentate 2,3,5,6-tetra-2-pyridyl-pyrazine (tppz) ligand, one I(-) anion and two O atoms of two water ligands. The dihedral angles between the pyridyl rings [maximum deviation = 0.034?(6)?Å] and their carrier pyrazine ring [maximum deviation = 0.020?(6)?Å] are 26.5?(2) and 27.0?(2)° for the coordinated pyridyl rings, and 51.3?(3) and 43.2?(2)° for the uncoordinated pyridyl rings. Inter-molecular O-H?O, O-H?N and O-H?I hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(C(8)H(6)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)NO(2)·H(2)O, contains one half of a cationic Mn(II) complex, a ClO(4) (-) anion, a nitro-methane solvent mol-ecule and one half-mol-ecule of water. The complex mol-ecule and the solvent water mol-ecule are located on a twofold rotation axis. In the complex, the Mn(II) ion has a distorted cis-N(4)O(2) octa-hedral coordination geometry defined by four N atoms of the two chelating 2,2'-bipyrimidine ligands and two O atoms of water mol-ecules. In the crystal, the complex cations, anions and solvent mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H?N, O-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The ClO(4) (-) anion is disordered over two sites with a site-occupancy factor of 0.512?(12) for the major component.

The Mn(II) atom is in an all-trans octa-hedral environment defined by two water mol-ecules, two chloride anions and two pyridine ligands. An inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-action between a water mol-ecule and a chloride anion bonded to an adjacent Mn(II) atom generates an eight-membered ring. Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(C(2)O(4))(C(3)H(10)N(2))(2)]Cl·H(2)O, there are two independent Mn(III) complexes, two Cl(-) anions and two uncoordinated water mol-ecules. Each Mn(III) atom is hexa-coordinated by four N atoms from two propane-1,3-diamine ligands and two O atoms from one oxalate ligand, resulting in a slightly distorted octa-hedral MnO(2)N(4) geometry. Mn-O and Mn-N bond lengths are in the ranges 1.969 (2)-2.020 (3) and 2.068 (3)-2.113 (4) Å, respectively. There are weak inter-molecular O-H⋯O, O-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯O and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds with D⋯A distances in the range 2.831 (4)-3.423 (3) Å.

Project description:In the polymeric structure of the title compound {[Li(2)(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(2)Li(H(2)O)(2)Li(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), the coordination of two independent Li(I) ions is distorted trigonal-bipyramidal and that of the other two independent Li(I) ions is distorted tetra-hedral. The former two Li(I) ions are bridged by hetero-ring N atoms of two independent pyridazine-3,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, making a dimeric moiety. The carboxyl-ato-O atoms of both bidentate ligands bridge the dimers to adjacent independent aqua-coordinated Li(I) ions, forming mol-ecular ribbons. The latter are bridged by ligand carboxyl-ato and aqua O atoms, forming mol-ecular layers parallel to (100) which are held together by an extended system of O-H?O hydrogen bonds.
