Bis(pyridine-3-carboxylic acid-?N)silver(I) perchlorate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ag(C(6)H(5)NO(2))(2)]ClO(4), the Ag(I) atom shows an almost linear coordination geometry, defined by two N atoms from two pyridine-3-carboxylic acid ligands. The complex cations are linked by hydrogen bonds between the carboxyl groups into a chain. The chains are further connected through C-H?O hydrogen bonds and a weak Ag?O inter-action [2.757?(8)?Å] into a layer. Another Ag?O inter-action [2.899?(2)?Å] and a C-H?O hydrogen bond connect the layers into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ag(C(5)H(6)N(2))(2)]NO(3), consists of one and a half each of both cations and anions, the other halves being generated by crystallographic inversion centres. One of the Ag(I) atoms lies on an inversion center and one of the nitrate ions is disordered across an inversion center. Each Ag(I) atom is bicoordinated in a linear geometry by two N atoms from two 2-amino-pyridine ligands. In the crystal structure, the cations and anions are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to (001) by N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, C(12)H(9)NO(2)S, belongs to the nitro-gen-containing group of heterocyclic organic compounds and crystallized with two mol-ecules per asymmetric unit. In the crystal, both molecules form inversion dimers linked by pairs of O-H-O hydrogen bonds. Weak symmetry-related C-H-O inter-actions link the carboxyl dimers along b axis. The dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings in the two mol-ecules are 55.75?(14) and 58.33?(13)°.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(14)H(19)NO(6), was synthesized by the reaction of glyoxylic acid, ethyl acetoacetate and NH(4)HCO(3). In the crystal structure, the dihydro-pyridine ring adopts an asymmetric boat-type conformation with the C atom bearing the carboxyl group showing a signficantly larger deviation [0.325?(2)?Å] from the base plane then the N atom [0.137?(2)?Å]. One of the ethyl groups is disordered over two positions with occupancies of 0.741?(10) and 0.259?(10). The crystal is stabilized by strong inter-molecular hydrogen bonds. N-H?O inter-actions form infinite chains in the a direction. O-H?O hydrogen bonds form typical carboxylic acid dimers, which link the N-H?O chains into a ladder-type double chain.

Project description:The structure of the title salt complex, [Fe(C(12)H(8)N(3)O(2))(2)]ClO(4)·H(2)O, contains one Fe(III) cation, two N-(pyridin-2-ylcarbon-yl)pyridine-2-carboxamidate (bpca(-)) anions, one perchlorate anion and one water mol-ecule. The Fe(III) cation has an approximate octa-hedral geometry, defined by six N atoms from two bpca(-) anions. The nearly parallel [dihedral angle = 1.50?(1)°] bpca(-) anions form two-dimensional supermolecules along the a axis by the way of weak ?-? stacking inteactirons [centroid-centroid distances = 3.948?(2), 4.000?(2), 3.948?(2), 3.911?(2), 3.897?(2), 3.984?(2) and 3.929?(2)?Å]. Intra- and inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonding occurs. The water mol-ecule [occupancies 0.520?(5) and 0.480?(5)], two carbonyl O atoms [occupancies 0.622?(7) and 0.378?(7)] and the four perchlorate O atoms [occupancies 0.887?(4) and 0.113?(4)] are each disordered over two positions.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ag{P(C(6)H(11))(2)(C(6)H(5))}(2)]ClO(4)·CH(2)Cl(2), the Ag(I) atom in the mononuclear complex cation is coordinated by two P atoms of the phosphane ligands [Ag-P = 2.3993 (4) and 2.4011 (4) Å; P-Ag-P = 177.473 (18)°] and the perchlorate anion acts as the counter-anion. There is an Ag⋯O(perchlorate) inter-action of 2.873 (2) Å, which contributes to the slightly non-linear bond angle about the Ag(I) atom. Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving phenyl, cyclo-hexyl and dichloro-methane H-atom donors and perchlorate O-atom acceptors contribute to the stabilization of the crystal structure.

Each Ag(I) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from two bridging bipy ligands, forming chains along [101]. π-π inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.638 (8) and 3.688 (8) Å] connect the chains. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the uncoord-inated water mol-ecules and the perchlorate anions.

Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(7)NO(4)S·H(2)O, was obtained by reaction of 2-mercaptopyridine-3-carboxylic acid with chloro-acetic acid. In the mol-ecular structure, the dihedral angle between the two least-squares planes defined by the pyridine ring and the carb-oxy group is 8.32?(9)°. The carboxy-methyl-sulfanyl group makes a torsion angle of 82.64?(12)° with the pyridine ring. An intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond between the acidic function of the carboxy-methyl-sulfanyl group and the pyridine N atom stabilizes the conformation, whereas inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonding with the uncoordinated water mol-ecules is responsible for packing of the structure, leading to chains propagating in [001].

Project description:In the title compound, [Na(H(2)O)(2)]ClO(4)·[Cu(2)(C(9)H(7)NO(3))(2)(C(6)H(7)N)(2)], the Cu(II) atom is coordinated by one N atom and two O atoms from a tridentate N-salicylideneglycinate Schiff base dianion and one N atom from a 3-methyl-pyridine ligand. Longer Cu⋯O contacts [2.680 (2) Å] complete an approximate square-based pyramidal coordination geometry around Cu(II), forming a dimeric complex across a centre of inversion. The dimeric complexes form stacks along the a axis, with Cu⋯O contacts of 3.332 (2) Å between them. The Na(+) cations and perchlorate anions lie on twofold rotation axes between the stacks. The former are coordinated by two disordered water mol-ecules (each with half-occupancy), and form Na⋯O contacts of 3.698 (3) Å to the perchlorate anions and Na⋯π contacts to neighbouring salicylideneglycinate ligands [shortest Na⋯C = 3.516 (3) Å].
