A linear supra-molecular structure built from O-H?O hydrogen bonds runs parallel to [100].

Project description:In the mononuclear title complex, [Zn(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(C(2)H(6)OS)(2)](C(24)H(20)B)(2)·C(2)H(6)OS, the Zn(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms of two bidentate 2,2'-bipyridine mol-ecules and by the O atoms of two cis-disposed dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The S atom and the methyl groups of one of the coordinated dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecules are disordered in a 0.509?(2):0.491?(2) ratio. The crystal packing is stabilized by C-H?O hydrogen bonds between the dimethyl sulfoxide solvent mol-ecules and tetra-phenyl-borate anions.

The azomethine linkage is disordered over two positions in a 0.657?(13):0.343?(13) ratio. The deprotonated salicyldehyde anion acts as an O,O'-chelate; the sixth coordination site is represented by the O atom of the dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecule. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin with a minor twin component of 14.2?(3)%.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title Zn(II) complex, [Zn(C(9)H(10)NO(2))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(H(2)O)(2)], contains two 4-(dimethyl-amino)benzoate (DMAB) ligands, one isonicotinamide (INA) ligand and two water mol-ecules; one of the DMAB ions acts as a bidentate ligand while the other and INA are monodentate ligands. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Zn atom form a distorted square-planar arrangement, while the distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the N atom of the INA ligand and the O atom of the water mol-ecule in the axial positions. Intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonding results in the formation of a six-membered ring adopting an envelope conformation. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl groups and the adjacent benzene rings are 4.87?(16) and 2.2?(2)°, while the two benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 65.13?(8)°. The dihedral angle between the benzene and pyridine rings are 11.47?(7) and 74.83?(8)°, respectively. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O, O-H?N and N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a supra-molecular structure. ?-? contacts between the pyridine and benzene rings and between the benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.695?(1) and 3.841?(1)?Å, respectively] further stabilize the structure. Weak inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions are also present.

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C16H14N4O3·C2H6OS, there are two independent main mol-ecules (A and B) and two dimethyl sulfoxide solvent mol-ecules. In mol-ecule A, the pyran ring is in a flattened sofa conformation, with the sp (3)-hydridized C atom forming the flap. In mol-ecule B, the pyran ring is in a flattened boat conformation, with the sp (3)-hydridized C atom and the O atom deviating by 0.073?(3) and 0.055?(3)?Å, respectively, from the plane of the other four atoms. The mean planes the pyrazole and phenyl rings form dihedral angles of 84.4?(2) and 84.9?(2)°, respectively, for mol-ecules A and B. In the crystal, N-H?O and N-H?N hydrogen bonds link the components of the structure into chains along [010]. In both solvent mol-ecules, the S atoms are disordered over two sites, with occupancy ratios of 0.679?(4):0.321?(4) and 0.546?(6):0.454?(6).

Project description:The reaction of the N-phenyl-2-(1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1-yl-idene)hy-dra-zine-car-bo-thio-amide ligand with zinc acetate dihydrate in a 2:1 molar ratio yielded a yellow solid, which was crystallized from DMSO to obtain the title compound, [Zn(C17H16N3S)2]·C2H6OS. The Zn(II) ion is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral environment by two deprotonated ligands. Each ligand acts as an N,S-donor, forming a five-membered metallacycle. The maximum deviation from the mean plane of the N-N-C-S chelate group is 0.0029 (14) Å for the N-donor atom of one ligand and 0.0044 (14) Å for the non-coordinating N atom of the second. The dihedral angle between the planes of the two chelate groups is 72.80 (07)°. Bond lengths in the ligands are compared with those in the crystal structure of the free ligand. In the crystal, complex mol-ecules are connected by dimethyl sulfoxide solvate mol-ecules via N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, building a one-dimensional hydrogen-bonded polymer along the a-axis direction. The S atom and one C atom of the dimethyl sulfoxide solvate mol-ecules are disordered over two sets of sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.6:0.4.

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(3)(CH(3)CO(2))(6)(C(2)H(6)SO)(2)](n), the Mn(II) ions exhibit similar MnO(6) octa-hedral coordination geometries but with different coordination environments. One type of Mn(II) ion is surrounded by five acetate groups and a terminal dimethyl sulfoxide group, while the other lies on a twofold axis and is coordinated by six O atoms from three symmetry-related acetate ions. The acetate anions exhibit three independent bridging modes, which flexibly bridge the Mn(II) ions along the c-axis direction, forming an infinite chain structure; the chains are further inter-connected through weak C-H?O and C-H?S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.
