Di-?-chlorido-bis-[chlorido(N,N'-dibenzyl-propane-1,2-diamine-?N,N')copper(II)].

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cu(2)Cl(4)(C(17)H(22)N(2))(2)], the Cu(II) cation is coordinated by a N,N'-dibenzyl-propane-1,2-diamine ligand and two Cl(-) anions, and a Cl(-) anion from an adjacent mol-ecule further bridges to the Cu(II) cation in the apical position, with a longer Cu-Cl distance of 2.9858?(18)?Å, forming a centrosymmetric dimeric complex in which each Cu(II) cation is in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. Intra-molecular N-H?Cl hydrogen bonding is observed in the dimeric complex.

Inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds produce R(2) (1)(6), R(2) (2)(8), R(2) (2)(12) and R(4) (2)(8) rings, generating a two-dimensional layer.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(H(2)NCH(2)CH(2)NH(2))(3)](CF(3)COO)(2), the environment of the Cu atom is distorted octa-hedral, formed by six N atoms from three chelating ethane-1,2-diamine ligands. The Cu-N distances range from 2.050 (2) to 2.300 (2) Å. This complex cation and the two trifluoro-acetate anions are connected by weak N-H⋯O and N-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. In both anions, the F atoms are disordered over two positions; in one the site-occupancy factors are 0.55 and 0.45, in the other the values are 0.69 and 0.31.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(2)Cl(2)(C(20)H(18)N(4))(H(2)O)(4)]Cl(2)·2C(2)H(6)O, the coordination environment of each Ni(2+) ion is distorted octa-hedral formed by two N atoms from the Schiff base ligand, two O atoms from water mol-ecules and two chloride anions acting as μ(2) bridges between the metal ions. The coordinated water mol-ecules are linked to the uncoordinated ethanol mol-ecules and chloride anions by O-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, although the assignment of some of these is tentative. A weak inter-molecular O-H⋯N inter-action within the ligand is also observed.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(OH)(2)(C(6)H(16)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)](BF(4))(2), consists of dinuclear centrosymmetric [Cu(2)(OH)(2)(tmen)(2)(H(2)O)](2+) complex cations (tmen = N,N,N',N'-tetra-methyl-ethane-1,2-diamine) and tetra-fluoridoborate anions. In the cation, the Cu(II) atom shows a slightly distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry provided by a pair of ?-OH(-) anions and by the N atoms of a chelate tmen ligand in the basal plane. The apical position is statistically occupied by the O atom of a half-occupancy water mol-ecule. The F atoms of the anion are disordered over three sets of sites with occupancies of 0.598?(9):0.269?(6):0.134?(8). The crystal packing is governed by ionic forces as well as by O-H?F hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title neutral copper complex, [Cu(2)Cl(4)(C(8)H(17)N(3)O(2))(2)], shows a binuclear center with a Cu-(?-Cl)(2)-Cu core, in which each copper ion is coordinated by the N,N,O donor atoms of the tridentate ligand 1,4,6-trimethyl-6-nitro-1,4-diazepine (meaaz-NO(2)) and three chloride exogenous ligands. Each metal ion is facially coordinated by meaaz-NO(2) through N,N,O donor atoms, whereas two bridging and one terminal chloride ions occupy the other face of the highly Jahn-Teller-distorted octa-hedron. Two N atoms from tertiary amine groups of the meaaz-NO(2) ligand and two exogenous Cl atoms with short Cu-N and Cu-Cl distances define the equatorial plane. The coordination around each Cu(II) ion is completed by another Cl atom and an O atom from the NO(2) group, in the axial positions. The binuclear complex exhibits a centrosymmetric structure with point symmetry .
