ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(15)H(14)O(3)S, the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 59.3?(8)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions between the benzene rings and the central ethyl-ene bridge, and a weak non-classical C-H?O hydrogen bond occurs in the structure.

Project description:The crystal structure of a racemic mixture of the title ruthenium(II) complex, [RuCl(C(30)H(30)O(2)P(2))(2)]CF(3)SO(3)·2CH(2)Cl(2), reveals that the coordination geometry about the coordinatively unsaturated metal centre is approximately trigonal-pyramidal, with the chlorine atom occupying one of the equatorial positions. The axial Ru-P bonds are longer than the equatorial Ru-P bonds and there is an acute P-Ru-P angle.

The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions and acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules are located in channels formed by the complex cations that run along the crystallographic c axis. Each counter-anion is also engaged in a C-H?O contact with one of the methyl-ene H atoms of a 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)ethane (dppe) ligand; another C-H?O contact involving an aromatic H atom is also observed.

Project description:The title molecular salt, C(6)H(16)N(+)·CH(3)SO(3) (-), has been determined at 150?K. Two diisopropyl-ammonium cations (dipH) and two anions form N-H?O hydrogen-bonded cyclic dimers lying around centers of symmetry. Only two of the three O atoms of the methane-sulfonate anion are involved in hydrogen bonding, resulting in slightly longer S-O bond lengths. The title structure represents an example of a sulfonate anion that is part of a hydrogen-bonding R(4) (4)(12) graph-set motif, which is well known for related dipH acetates. Additionally, the Raman and the IR spectroscopic data for the title compound are presented.

Project description:The title complex, [Ag(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))(2)(C(9)H(7)N)(2)](CF(3)SO(3))(2)·C(9)H(7)N, was prepared by the reaction of silver(I) trifluoro-methane-sulfonate with isoquinoline and bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)methane (dppm). The dinuclear mol-ecule is located about a center of inversion and the Ag(I) atom is coordinated by two dppm P atoms and one isoquinoline N atom, forming an eight-membered metalla ring. In addition, in the asymmetric unit, there is a half-mol-ecule of isoquinoline located about a center of inversion. Since this mol-ecule does not possess this symmetry, for one position in the ring there is superposition of both a C atom of a C-H group and the isoquinoline N atom. In the structure, the Ag-P distances [2.4296 (9) and 2.4368 (9) Å] agree with the corresponding distances in related structures, while the Ag-N bond length [2.489 (3) Å] is slightly longer than that in related structures. On the other hand, the P-Ag-P angle [156.44 (3)°] is much larger than the corresponding angles in related structures. The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions do not coordinate to Ag(I) atoms. As is usually found for these anions, the -CF(3) group is disordered over two orientations [occupancies = 0.57 (12) and 0.43 (12)].

In the crystal structure, 1,2-bis-[(3-cyano-benzyl-idene)hydrazono]-1,2-diphenyl-ethane ligands act as bridging ligands and each coordinates to four Ag(I) ions, resulting in a one-dimensional chain structure. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
