ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Au(C(4)H(12)P(2)S(2))(2)](CF(3)SO(3)), the gold(I) atom is tightly bonded to two S atoms belonging to different ligand mol-ecules and forms two weaker contacts to the remaining S atoms. The coordination geometry around gold is inter-mediate between linear-dicoordinate and tetra-hedral with an S-Au-S angle of 161.49?(3)°.

Project description:The crystal structure of a racemic mixture of the title ruthenium(II) complex, [RuCl(C(30)H(30)O(2)P(2))(2)]CF(3)SO(3)·2CH(2)Cl(2), reveals that the coordination geometry about the coordinatively unsaturated metal centre is approximately trigonal-pyramidal, with the chlorine atom occupying one of the equatorial positions. The axial Ru-P bonds are longer than the equatorial Ru-P bonds and there is an acute P-Ru-P angle.

Project description:The title compound, trans-[Ru(bpy)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](CF(3)SO(3))(2) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, C(10)H(8)N(2)), crystallized from the decomposition of an aged aqueous solution of a dimeric complex of cis-Ru(bpy)(2) in 0.1 M triflic acid. The Ru(II) ion is located on a crystallographic inversion center and exhibits a distorted octa-hedral coordination with equivalent ligands trans to each other. The Ru-O distance is 2.1053?(16)?Å and the Ru-N distances are 2.0727?(17) and 2.0739?(17)?Å. The bpy ligands are bent, due to inter-ligand steric inter-actions between H atoms of opposite pyridyl units across the Ru center. The crystal structure exhibits an extensive hydrogen-bonding network involving the water ligands and the trifluoromethane-sulfonate counter-ions within two-dimensional layers, although no close hydrogen-bond inter-actions exist between different layers.

Project description:The title salt, [Pd(C(6)H(4)N(2))(4)](CF(3)SO(3))(2), comprises Pd(4-cyano-pyridine)(4) dications balanced by two trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions. The Pd(II) atom lies in a square-planar geometry defined by four N atoms which form equivalent Pd-N inter-actions. The 4-cyano-pyridine ligands are twisted out of the N(4) plane, forming dihedral angles ranging from 66.5?(2) to 89.9?(2)°. In the crystal packing, columns of edge-to-edge dications define channels in which reside the anions. A range of C-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding interactions stabilizes the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ag(2)(C(12)H(12)N(2))(C(21)H(15)N(3))(2)](CF(3)SO(3))(2), the Ag(I) atom is coordinated by three N atoms of one 4'-phenyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (phtpy) ligand and one pyridyl N atom of the 1,2-bis-(4-pyrid-yl)ethane (bpe) ligand, displaying a distorted square-planar geometry. Two Ag(I) atoms are bridged by one trans-bpe ligand, generating a dinuclear cation. The dinuclear cation is located on a centre of inversion, which is in the middle of the ethyl-ene fragment of the bpe ligand. In the crystal, the pyridyl rings of neighboring dinuclear units are stacked by ?-? inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.667?(2) and 3.835?(2)?Å. The F and O atoms of the CF(3)SO(3) (-) anions are involved in inter-molecular C-H?F and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, respectively, with -CH groups from the phtpy ligands.

The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions and acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules are located in channels formed by the complex cations that run along the crystallographic c axis. Project description:2,5-Bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,3,4-thia-diazole (denoted L) has been found to act as a bidentate ligand in the monomeric title complex, [Cu(CF(3)O(3)S)(C(12)H(8)N(4)S)(2)(H(2)O)](CF(3)O(3)S). The complex shows a distorted octahedrally coordinated copper(II) cation which is linked to two thia-diazole ligands, one water mol-ecule and one trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anion. The second trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anion does not coordinate the copper(II) cation. Each thia-diazole ligand uses one pyridyl and one thia-diazole N atom for the coordination of copper. The N atom of the second non-coordinating pyridyl substituent is found on the same side of the 1,3,4-thia-diazole ring as the S atom. The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate ions are involved in a three-dimensional network of O-H?O hydrogen bonds. C-H?N inter-actions also occur.

Project description:The title complex, [Ag(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))(2)(C(9)H(7)N)(2)](CF(3)SO(3))(2)·C(9)H(7)N, was prepared by the reaction of silver(I) trifluoro-methane-sulfonate with isoquinoline and bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)methane (dppm). The dinuclear mol-ecule is located about a center of inversion and the Ag(I) atom is coordinated by two dppm P atoms and one isoquinoline N atom, forming an eight-membered metalla ring. In addition, in the asymmetric unit, there is a half-mol-ecule of isoquinoline located about a center of inversion. Since this mol-ecule does not possess this symmetry, for one position in the ring there is superposition of both a C atom of a C-H group and the isoquinoline N atom. In the structure, the Ag-P distances [2.4296 (9) and 2.4368 (9) Å] agree with the corresponding distances in related structures, while the Ag-N bond length [2.489 (3) Å] is slightly longer than that in related structures. On the other hand, the P-Ag-P angle [156.44 (3)°] is much larger than the corresponding angles in related structures. The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions do not coordinate to Ag(I) atoms. As is usually found for these anions, the -CF(3) group is disordered over two orientations [occupancies = 0.57 (12) and 0.43 (12)].

Project description:The title compound, [Pt(C??H??NP?)?](CF?SO?)?, consists of a Pt(II) atom, situated on an inversion centre, coordinated by two diphosphinoamine bidentate ligands and charge-balanced by two trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions. The Pt(II) atom has a distorted square-planar geometry defined by the four P atoms. The distortion is illustrated by the P-Pt-P bite angle of 70.31?(4)°. The geometry around the N atom deviates from a trigonal-planar geometry, evidenced by the P-N-P bite angle of 102.3?(2) °. The N atom is displaced by 0.114?(4)?Å from the C/P/P plane. In order to coordinate, the orientation of the phenyl rings alters from a C(s) conformation to a C(2v) conformation. The cyclo-pentane ring is slightly twisted: the puckering parameters are q(2) = 0.420?(5)?Å and ? = 26.5?(8) °. The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anion displays a 0.511?(11):0.489?(11) positional disorder. Weak inter- and intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds influence the crystal packing.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(19)H(14)N(+)·CF(3)SO(3) (-), the cations are linked to each other by very weak C-H?? inter-actions, while the cations and anions are connected by N-H?O, C-H?O and S-O?? inter-actions. The acridine ring system and the phenyl ring are oriented at an angle of 80.1?(1)° with respect to each other. The mean planes of adjacent acridine units are either parallel or inclined at an angle of 35.6?(1)°. The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions are disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are 0.591?(8) and 0.409?(8).
