ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, {[Dy(C(10)H(13)N(2)O(8))]·3H(2)O}(n), the dysprosium(III) ion is coordinated by two N atoms and six O atoms from three different (carb-oxy-meth-yl)ethyl-ene-diamine-triacetate ligands in a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry. The ligands connect the metal atoms, forming layers parallel to the ab plane. O-H?O hydrogen bonds further assemble adjacent layers into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

The edta ligands link the neodymium metal centres, forming polymeric chains running along the a axis of the unit cell. These chains are further assembled via inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The title coordination polymer, {[Nd(2)(C(4)H(2)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]·3H(2)O}, was synthesized by the reaction of neodymium(III) nitrate hexa-hydrate with fumaric acid in a water-methanol (7:3) solution. The asymmetric unit comprises two Nd(3+) cations, three fumarate dianions (L(2-)), four aqua ligands and three uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The carboxyl-ate groups of the fumarate dianions exhibit different coordination modes. In one fumarate dianion, two carboxyl-ate groups chelate two Nd(3+) cations, while one of the O atoms is coordinated to another Nd(3+) cation. Another fumarate dianion bridges three Nd(3+) cations: one of the carboxyl-ate groups chelates one Nd(3+) cation, while the other carboxyl-ate group bridges two Nd(3+) cations in a monodentate mode. The third fumarate dianion bridges four Nd(3+) cations, where one of the carboxyl-ate groups chelates one Nd(3+) cation and coordinates in a monodentate mode to a second Nd(3+), while the second carboxyl-ate groups bridges two Nd(3+) cations in a monodentate mode and one O atom is coordinated to one Nd(3+) cation. The Nd(3+) cations are in a distorted tricapped-trigonal prismatic environment and coordinated by seven O atoms from the fumarate ligands and two O atoms from water mol-ecules. The Nd(3+) cations are linked by two carboxyl-ate O atoms and two carboxyl-ate groups, generating infinite Nd-O chains to form a three-dimensional framework. There are O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding interactions between the coordin-ated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate O atoms.

Project description:The title complex, [Dy(C(8)H(6)NO(4))(C(2)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), is a dysprosium coordination polymer with mixed anions and was obtained under hydrothermal conditions. In the structure, the oxalate and 5-amino-isophthalate ligands link the dysprosium ions, building up a two-dimensional metal-organic framework parallel to the (10) plane. These sheets are further connected through O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:Hexamethyl-phospho-ramide (hmp), tetra-thio-molybdate, silver sulfide and dysprosium nitrate were self-assembled to form an anionic [AgMoS(4)](n) (n-) chain in the title complex, {[Dy(NO(3))(2)(C(6)H(18)N(3)OP)(4)][AgMoS(4)]}(n). The central Dy atom in the cation is coordinated by eight O atoms from two nitrate and four hmp ligands, resulting in a distorted square-anti-prismatic environment. Together with the two nitrate ligands, the cation is monovalent, which leads to the anionic chain having an [AgMoS(4)] repeat unit. The polymeric anionic chain, with Mo-Ag-Mo and Ag-Mo-Ag angles of 161.911?(13) and 154.014?(13)°, respectively, presents a distorted linear configuration. The title complex is isostructural with the W analogue.

Project description:The title compound, {(C(2)H(8)N)[Dy(C(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)]·3H(2)O}(n), was obtained as an unexpected product under hydro-thermal conditions. The Dy(III) atom is chelated by four oxalate anions, two of which are situated on two different centres of inversion. The distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic coordination sphere of the Dy(III) atom is completed by a water mol-ecule. The bridging mode of the anions results in the formation of a three-dimensional network with cavities where the ammonium cations and the uncoordinated water mol-ecules reside. The structure is stabilized by numerous N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the title three-dimensional heterometallic complex, {[AgDy(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(H(2)O)]ClO(4)}(n), the Dy(III) ion is eight-coordinated by four O atoms from four different isonicotinate ligands, three O atoms from two different acetate ligands and one O atom of water mol-ecule. The two-coordinate Ag(I) ion is bonded to two N atoms from two different isonicotinate anions. These metal coordination units are connected by bridging isonicotinate and acetate ligands, generating a three-dimensional network. The coordinated water mol-ecules link the carboxyl-ate group and the acetate ligand by O-H?O hydrogen bonding. The perchlorate anion is disordered over two sites with site occupancy factors 0.508?(12) and 0.492?(12) and the methyl group of the acetate ligand is disordered over two positions of equal occupancy.

Project description:The title complex, {(C(2)H(8)N)[Y(C(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)]·3H(2)O}(n), was obtained accidentally under hydro-thermal conditions. The Y(III) atom is chelated by four oxalate ligands and one water mol-ecule resulting in a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. Each oxalate ligand bridges two Y(III) atoms, thus generating a three-dimensional network with cavities in which the ammonium cations and lattice water mol-ecules reside. Various O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions stabilize the crystal structure. The title complex is isotypic with the Eu and Dy analogues.

Project description:The title compound, (C(4)H(12)N(2))[Ce(2)(C(4)H(4)O(4)S)(4)(H(2)O)(2)]·3H(2)O, features a polymeric anion with a centrosymmetric Ce(2)O(2) core and a Ce?Ce distance of 4.3625?(4)?Å. The anions form ribbons {[Ce(2)(C(4)H(4)O(4)S)(4)(H(2)O)(2)](2-)}(n) extending along [100]. The doubly protonated piperazinium cations reside on centers of inversion and link the polymeric ribbons via N-H?O hydrogen bonding. Each Ce(III) cation is ten-coordinated by an O(2)S donor set from two tridentate sulfanediyldiacetate (tda) ligands, one water mol-ecule and three other tda O donors from adjacent {Ce(tda)(2)(H(2)O)} units in a distorted bicapped cubic environment. Additional O-H?O hydrogen bonding involving the coordinated and solvent water mol-ecules is also present. H atoms of the crystal water molecules could not be located and were not included in the refinement.

Project description:The crystal structures of the building block tetra-methyl-ammonium (2,2'-bi-pyridine-?(2) N,N')tetra-cyanidoferrate(III) trihydrate, [N(CH3)4][Fe(CN)4(C10H8N2)]·3H2O, (I), and a new two-dimensional cyanide-bridged bimetallic coordination polymer, poly[[(2,2'-bi-pyridine-?(2) N,N')di-?2-cyanido-dicyanido(?-ethyl-enedi-amine-?(2) N:N')(ethyl-enedi-amine-?(2) N,N')cadmium(II)iron(II)] monohydrate], [CdFe(CN)4(C10H8N2)(C2H8N2)2]·H2O, (II), are reported. In the crystal of (I), pairs of [Fe(2,2'-bipy)(CN)4](-) units (2,2'-bipy is 2,2'-bi-pyri-dine) are linked together through ?-? stacking between the pyridyl rings of the 2,2'-bipy ligands to form a graphite-like structure parallel to the ab plane. The three independent water mol-ecules are hydrogen-bonded alternately with each other, forming a ladder chain structure with R 4 (4)(8) and R 6 (6)(12) graph-set ring motifs, while the disordered [N(CH3)4](+) cations lie above and below the water chains, and the packing is stabilized by weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The water chains are further linked with adjacent sheets into a three-dimensional network via O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the lattice water mol-ecules and the N atoms of terminal cyanide groups of the [Fe(2,2'-bipy)(CN)4](-) building blocks, forming an R 4 (4)(12) ring motif. Compound (II) features a two-dimensional {[Fe(2,2'-bipy)(CN)4Cd(en)2]} n layer structure (en is ethyl-enedi-amine) extending parallel to (010) and constructed from {[Fe(2,2'-bipy)(CN)4Cd(en)]} n chains inter-linked by bridging en ligands at the Cd atoms. Classical O-H?N and N-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the lattice water mol-ecule and N atoms of terminal cyanide groups and the N-H groups of the en ligands are observed within the layers. The layers are further connected via ?-? stacking inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings of the 2,2'-bipy ligands, completing a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.
