Bis(2-ethyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium) tetra-chloridomercurate(II).

ABSTRACT: The crystal structure of the title compound, (C(5)H(9)N(2))(2)[HgCl(4)], consists of discrete tetra-chloridomercurate dications and discrete 2-methyl-imidazolium cations. In the complex anion, the mercury cations are coordinated by four chloride anions with distances between 2.4568?(14) and 2.4936?(15)?Å in a tetra-hedral geometry. In the crystal, the cations and anions are connected by inter-molecular N-H?Cl inter-actions. One C atom of the cations is disordered and was refined using a split model (occupancy ratio 0.75:0.25).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C4H7N2)2[CoCl4], consists of two 2-methyl-imidazolium cations and one tetra-hedral [CoCl4](2-) anion. The anions and cations inter-act through N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds to define layers with a stacking direction along [100]. Besides van der Waals forces, weak C-H⋯Cl inter-actions between these layers stabilize the crystal packing.

The protonated 1,1'-[(biphenyl-4,4'-di-yl)bis-(meth-yl-ene)]di-1H-imidazol-3-ium cations, showing a cis conformation, link the [HgCl(4)](2-) anions into an R(4) (4)(42) motif via N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the mol-ecular structure of the title compound, [NiCl2(C7H12N2S)2], the Ni(II) atom has a distorted tetra-hedral geometry, coordinated by two Cl atoms [Ni-Cl= 2.2336 (6) Å] and two thione S atoms [Ni-S= 2.3024 (6) Å]. The angles at the Ni(II) cation, which lies on a twofold rotation axis, are Cl-Ni-Cl = 115.58 (3)° and S-Ni-S = 94.55 (3)°. All other angles at the central Ni(II) atom range from 109.46 (2) to 112.96 (2)°. The C-S-Ni angle is 99.91 (6)°. The planes of two imidazolium rings make a dihedral angle of 70.56 (6)°.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title hydrated complex salt, (C18H14N5)2[Pt(CN)4]·4H2O, consists of one 2-[2,5-bis-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-imidazol-4-yl]pyridinium cation, half a tetra-cyanidoplatinate(II) dianion, which is located about a crystallographic inversion center, and two water mol-ecules of crystallization. The Pt(II) atom has a square-planar coordination environment, with Pt-CCN distances of 1.992 (4) and 2.000 (4) Å. In the cation, there is an N-H⋯N hydrogen bond linking adjacent pyridinium and pyridine rings in positions 4 and 5. Despite this, the organic component is non-planar, as shown by the dihedral angles of 10.3 (2), 6.60 (19) and 15.66 (18)° between the planes of the central imidazole ring and the pyridine/pyridinium substituents in the 2-, 4- and 5-positions. In the crystal, cations and anions are linked via O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. Additional π-π, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N contacts provide stabilization to the crystal lattice.

Project description:In the title complex, [Zn(C(4)H(3)N(6))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the metal centre lies on an inversion centre and displays a distorted octa-hedral ZnN(4)O(2) coordination geometry. Project description:In the anion of the title compound, (C6H11N2)[B5O6(OH)4], both six-membered borate rings adopt a flattened boat conformation with the spiro-B atom and its opposite O atom deviating from the remainders of the rings by 0.261 (3)/0.101 (2) and 0.160 (3)/0.109 (2) Å, respectively. The imidazolium cation also deviates from planarity due to rotation of the ethyl group (as indicated by the C-N-C-C torsion angle) by 71.4 (2)° out of the plane of the heterocycle. In the crystal, the anions are connected in a three-dimensional network through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming channels along the a-axis direction. The cations are situated in the channels, forming C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with the anions.
