ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [PtCl2(C6H16N2)], the Pt(II) atom adopts a distorted cis-PtN2Cl2 square-planar coordination geometry. The five-membered chelate ring adopts a twisted conformation. In the crystal, weak C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into (001) sheets.

Project description:In the title salt, [Zn(2)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(5)](ClO(4))(4), an ethyl-enediamine mol-ecule bridges two bis-(ethyl-enediamine)-zinc units; the five-coordinate Zn atoms show a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry that is distorted towards square-pyramidal (that of one Zn atom is distorted by 12% and that of the other by 34%). The perchlorate ions are all disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio. The cation inter-acts weakly with the anion by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(OH)(2)(C(6)H(16)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)](BF(4))(2), consists of dinuclear centrosymmetric [Cu(2)(OH)(2)(tmen)(2)(H(2)O)](2+) complex cations (tmen = N,N,N',N'-tetra-methyl-ethane-1,2-diamine) and tetra-fluoridoborate anions. In the cation, the Cu(II) atom shows a slightly distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry provided by a pair of ?-OH(-) anions and by the N atoms of a chelate tmen ligand in the basal plane. The apical position is statistically occupied by the O atom of a half-occupancy water mol-ecule. The F atoms of the anion are disordered over three sets of sites with occupancies of 0.598?(9):0.269?(6):0.134?(8). The crystal packing is governed by ionic forces as well as by O-H?F hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(2)H(3)O(2))(2)(C(6)H(16)N(2))], the Cu(II) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from the chelating N,N,N',N'-tetra-methyl-ethane-1,2-diamine ligand and two O atoms from two acetate anions in a distorted square-planar geometry. In addition, there are longer contacts between Cu and the second O atom of each acetate ligand, which could be considered to complete a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The mol-ecules in the crystal structure are connected via inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding contacts.

The Mn atom is chelated by two atoms N atoms of this bridging ligand, and is also coordinated by four N atoms of another ligand. The Mn atom is seven-coordinated in a penta-gonal-bipyramidal environment. The crystal structure displays inter-molecular π-π inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings, with a shortest centroid-centroid distance of 3.784 (3) Å. The perchlorate is linked to the dinuclear cation by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Two of the en ligands surrrounding the Ni(2+) ion have disordered C atoms, while the third exhibits extensive weak N-H⋯I inter-actions with the two iodide ions that extend throughout the crystalline lattice, producing an infinite network along (011).
