Catena-Poly[[di-aqua-[?2-4-(4-carb-oxy-phen-oxy)benzoato](?2-4,4'-oxydibenzo-ato)praseodymium(III)] monohydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, {[Pr(C14H8O5)(C14H9O5)(H2O)2]·H2O} n , the Pr(III) cation is eight-coordinated by six carboxyl O atoms from both a monoanionic 4-(4-carb-oxy-phen-oxy)benzoate and a dianionic 4,4'-oxydibenzoate ligand (four bridging with two from a bidentate chelate inter-action), and two O-atom donors from water mol-ecules. A single water mol-ecule of solvation is also present. The complex units are linked through carboxyl O:O' bridges giving a two-dimensional sheet polymer lying parallel to (001). An overall three-dimensional network structure is generated through inter-molecular carb-oxy-lic acid and water O-H?O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Li(C(6)H(3)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), contains an Li(I) ion with a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment. It is chelated by a singly protonated ligand mol-ecule via its heterocyclic N atom, by two O aoms, each donated by an adjacent carboxyl-ate group, and is further coordinated by a water O atom which acts as a bridge, forming a mol-ecular ribbon. Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(7)H(4)NO(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), the Cu(I) ion is coordinated by the N atom from a 5-carb-oxy-pyridine-3-carboxyl-ate anion, two N atoms from two 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy) ligands and one water mol-ecule in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The 4,4'-bipy ligands bridge the Cu(I) ions into polymeric chains propagating in [201]. The latticeand the coordinating water mol-ecules as well as the carboxy OH function are involved in the formation of inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which consolidate the crystal packing.

The Na(I) atoms are bridged by water mol-ecules into a chain structure along [100]. Inter-molecular N-H?O, O-H?N and O-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the chains. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond between the carboxyl-ate groups is observed.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C9H4O6)(H2O)3] n , the Cu(II) cation exhibits a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry involving five O atoms from two monodentate 5-carb-oxy-benzene-1,3-di-carboxyl-ate anions and three water mol-ecules. The 5-carb-oxy-benzene-1,3-di-carboxyl-ate anions bridge Cu(II) cations into zigzag polymeric chains running along the b-axis direction. These chains are further linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds between coordinating water mol-ecules or carboxyl groups and carboxylate groups into a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture. In the crystal, ?-? stacking is observed between parallel benzene rings of adjacent chains, the centroid-centroid distances being 3.584?(3) and 3.684?(3)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, {[CoBr(2)(C(5)H(4)N(2)O(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), is a one-dimensional coordination polymer which crystallizes as a monohydrate. The asymmetric unit contains one Co(II) atom in a distorted octa-hedral geometry, forming a chain parallel to [010] with the pyrazine carb-oxy-lic acid ligands coordinating on one side in a bidentate fashion through one N and one O atom, and in a monodentate fashion through a N atom, with N atoms trans, and with both ligands lying in the same plane. The bromide atoms are cis to each other, while a water mol-ecule occupies the final octa-hedral coordination site. The chains are linked together though an O-H?Br hydrogen bonding network, and are further stabilized by an O-H?Br and O-H?O hydrogen-bonding framework with the solvent water mol-ecule.

The structure consists of polymeric infinite linear chains with composition [Co(C(2)H(5)COO)(4/2)(H(2)O)(2/2)](?) running along [010]. The chains are formed by Co(2+) ions linked with bridging propionate groups and water mol-ecules, with a Co?Co distance along the chains of 3.2587?(9)?Å. Project description:A coordination polymer formulated as [Sr(H2BTEC)(H2O)] n (H4BTEC = benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra-carb-oxy-lic acid, C10H6O8), was synthesized hydro-thermally and characterized by single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and thermal analysis. Its crystal structure is made up of a zigzag inorganic chain formed by edge-sharing of [SrO8] polyhedra running along [001]. Adjacent chains are connected to each other via the carboxyl-ate groups of the ligand, resulting in a double-layered network extending parallel to (100). O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds of medium-to-weak strength between the layers consolidate the three-dimensional structure. One of the carb-oxy-lic OH functions was found to be disordered over two sets of sites with half-occupancy.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title complex, [Gd(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(C(8)H(4)NO(6))(C(12)H(8)N(2))](n), contains polymeric chains made up of Gd(III) atoms, 1,10-phenanthroline and fully or half-deproton-ated 5-nitro-benzene-1,3-dicarb-oxy-lic acid (H(2)L) ligands. The Gd(III) atom is coordinated in a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic fashion by six O atoms from two HL(-) and three L(2-) ligands, and by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand. The L(2-) ligands bridge the Gd-phenanthroline units, forming chains running parallel to [100]. O-H?O hydrogen bonding as well as ?-? stacking inter-actions with an inter-planar distance of 3.599?(2)?Å assemble neighboring polymeric chains.
