Crystal structure of (N (1)-benzyl-N (1),N (2),N (2)-tri-methyl-ethane-1,2-di-amine-?(2) N,N')di-chloridomercury(II).

ABSTRACT: In the structure of the title compound, [HgCl2(C12H20N2)], the Hg(II) atom has a distorted tetra-hedral coordination sphere defined by two tertiary amine N-atom donors, as well as two Cl(-) anions [the dihedral angle between the N-Hg-N and Cl-Hg-Cl planes is 82.80?(9)°]. The five-membered chelate ring adopts an envelope conformation, with puckering parameters of Q(2) = 0.446?(6)?Å and ?(2) = 88.8?(6)°, with the two amine CH3 substituents on opposite sides of the ring. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by C-H?Cl inter-actions into a zigzag chain parallel to [101].

Project description:In the title mol-ecular salt, C12H22N2 (2+)·2Cl(-), which was obtained as a by-product in the attempted synthesis of a mercury derivative, the conformation of the N-C-C-N bond in the cation is anti [torsion angle = 175.1?(10)°]. In the crystal, the cations are linked to the anions by N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, generating ion-triplets. These are linked by numerous weak C-H?Cl inter-actions, generating a three-dimensional network. The structure was refined as an inversion twin.

Project description:In the title compound, [HgCl2(C16H28N2Se)], the primary geometry around the Se and Hg atoms is distorted trigonal-pyramidal and distorted square-pyramidal, respectively. The distortion of the mol-ecular geometry in the complex is caused by the steric demands of the ligands attached to the Se atom. The Hg atom is coordinated through two chloride anions, an N atom and an Se atom, making up an unusual HgNSeCl2 coordination sphere with an additional long Hg⋯N inter-action. Inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl inter-actions are the only identified inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-actions that seem to be responsible for the self assembly. These relatively weak C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds possess the required linearity and donor-acceptor distances. They act as mol-ecular associative forces that result in a supra-molecular assembly along the b-axis direction in the solid state of the title compound.

Project description:The title compound, [PdCl2(C28H24N2)]·CH3OH, was pre-pared from the reaction of PdCl2(DMSO)2 (DMSO is di-methyl sulfoxide) and N,N'-bis-(4-methyl-phen-yl)-1,2-di-phenyl-ethane-1,2-di-imine in methanol. The chelating di-imine core of the title compound deviates slightly from planarity, with an N-C-C-N torsion angle of 5.3 (3)°. Delocalization in the di-imine core is indicated by N-C and C-C bonds that are, respectively, longer and shorter than those found in related nonchelating di-imines. The distorted square-planar coordination environment around the Pd(II) atom is manifested as bond angles that are smaller and larger than 90°, and palladacycle torsion angles of -173.22 (16) and 167.06 (16)°. These deviations are attributed to the small bite angle of 79.13 (8)° of the di-imine chelate. The crystal packing exhibits weak inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving aromatic H atoms, Cl atoms and inter-calated methanol solvent mol-ecules, defining layers parallel to (010).

Project description:The title compound, C26H36N2O2, crystallizes in the phenol-imine form. In the mol-ecule, there are intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds forming S(6) ring motifs, and the two aromatic rings are inclined to each other by 37.9?(7)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by pairs of weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers. Hirshfeld surface analysis and two-dimensional fingerprint plots indicate that the most important contributions to the crystal packing are from H?H (77.5%), H?C/C?H (16%), H?O/O?H (3.1%) and H?N/N?H (1.7%) inter-actions.

The organic cation has an inversion center at the mid-point of the ethane C-C bond. In the anion, the Pb(II) atom is coordinated by six I atoms in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The I atoms bridge the Pb(II) atoms into a polymeric chain running along [001]. These inorganic chains are separated by the isolated organic cations.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu2(C8Br4O4)2(C6H16N2)2(H2O)2], the Cu(II) cation is chelated by a tetra-methyl-ethane-1,2-di-amine ligand and coordinated by a water mol-ecule as well as bridged by two tetra-bromo-phthalate anions in a distorted O3N2 trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The two symmetry-related tetra-bromo-phthalate anions bridge the two Cu(II) cations, forming a centrosymmetric dinuclear complex in which the Cu⋯Cu separation is 5.054 (2) Å. Intra-molecular classic O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds occur in the dinuclear mol-ecule. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H⋯Br and C-H⋯O inter-actions into supra-molecular chains propagating along the b-axis direction.

Project description:The Cu(II) atom in the title compound, [CuCl2(C14H21F3N4)], adopts a coordination geometry that is between distorted square-based pyramidal and very Jahn-Teller-elongated octa-hedral. It is coordinated by three N atoms from the bis-(2-amino-eth-yl)(2-{[4-(tri-fluoro-meth-yl)benzyl-idene]amino}-eth-yl)amine and two chloride ligands. The two crystallographically unique copper complexes present in the asymmetric unit exhibit noticeable differences in the coordination bond lengths. Considering the Cu(II) atoms as having square-pyramidal geometry, the basal Cu-Cl bond lengths are typical [2.2701?(12) and 2.2777?(12)?Å], while the apical distances are considerably elongated [2.8505?(12) and 2.9415?(12)?Å]. For each mol-ecule, a Cu(II) atom from inversion-related mol-ecules are in nearby proximity to the remaining axial Cu(II) sites, but the Cu?Cl distances are very long [3.4056?(12) and 3.1645?(12)?Å], attributable to van der Waals contacts. Nonetheless, these contacts appear to have some structure-directing properties, leading to association into dimers. These dimers associate via stacking of the aromatic rings to form extended zigzag chains.

Project description:The unit cell of the title compound, [FeII(NCS)2(C25H28N8)], consists of two charge-neutral complex mol-ecules related by an inversion centre. In the complex mol-ecule, the tetra-dentate ligand N 1,N 3-bis-[(1-benzyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methyl-ene]-2,2-di-methyl-propane-1,3-di-amine coordinates to the FeII ion through the N atoms of the 1,2,3-triazole moieties and aldimine groups. Two thio-cyanate anions, coordinating through their N atoms, complete the coordination sphere of the central ion. In the crystal, neighbouring mol-ecules are linked through weak C-H??, C-H?S and C-H?N inter-actions into a two-dimensional network extending parallel to (011). The inter-molecular contacts were qu-anti-fied using Hirshfeld surface analysis and two-dimensional fingerprint plots, revealing the relative contributions of the contacts to the crystal packing to be H?H (35.2%), H?C/C?H (26.4%), H?S/S?H (19.3%) and H?N/N?H (13.9%).

Project description:The title compound N,N,N',N'-tetra-methyl-ethanedi-amine, C6H16N2, is a bidentate amine ligand commonly used in organolithium chemistry for deaggregation. Crystals were grown at 243 K from n-pentane solution. The complete mol-ecule is generated by a crystallographic center of symmetry and the conformation of the di-amine is anti-periplanar. To investigate the inter-molecular inter-actions, a Hirshfeld surface analysis was performed. It showed that H⋯H (van der Waals) inter-actions dominate with a contact percentage of 92.3%.
