Flecainide: effects of oral administration on haemodynamic and electrocardiographic parameters in the chronically-instrumented conscious guinea-pig using telemetry.

ABSTRACT: N=6 Male Dunkin-Hartley guinea-pigs, chronically-instrumented with a radiotelemetry implant. Flecainide at 5, 15, 45 and 90 mg/kg, po, in successive treatments sessions as an escalating dose design. No PK phase. Haemodynamic parameters (SAP, DAP, MAP, HR). Lead II ECG (RR, PR, QRS, QT, QTc intervals). Arterial blood pressure, heart rate and ECG parameters were measured 45, 30 and 15 min before administration (mean of measurements obtained at these time points=baseline = T0) and 30 (T30), 60 (T60), 90 (T90), 120 (T120), 180 (T180), 240 (T240), 360 (T360), 480 (T480), 720 (T720), 960 (T960), 1200 (T1200) and 1440min (T1440) post-administration.
