Go_BioID_humancellmap_HEK293_ER-mito_candidates_2019

ABSTRACT: This dataset consists of 94 raw MS files and associated peak lists and result files, acquired on a Velos Orbitrap Elite mass spectrometer operated in Data Dependent Acquisition mode. All samples are BioID experiments on new ER and mitochondrial contact protein candidates, performed in HEK293 Flp-In T-REx cells using high concentrations of SDS for lysis and washes. Sample preparation and mass spectrometric acquisition were performed by Christopher Go. The files are associated with a manuscript by Go et al. that describes generation of a proximity dependent biotinylation (BioID) map of a human cell. Anne-Claude Gingras should be contacted for questions on this dataset (gingras@lunenfeld.ca).

Compartmentalization is a defining characteristic of eukaryotic cells, and partitions distinct biochemical processes into discrete subcellular locations. Microscopy1 and biochemical fractionation coupled with mass spectrometry2-4 have defined the proteomes of a variety of different organelles, but many intracellular compartments have remained refractory to such approaches. Proximity-dependent biotinylation techniques such as BioID provide an alternative approach to define t  ...[more]
