Transcription profiling of yeast temperature-sensitive abf1-1 cells when grown at the restrictive temperature of 37oC as compared to wild-type cells grown under same conditions

ABSTRACT: The aim of this study is to define the groups of genes which are de-regulated in temperature-sensitive abf1-1 cells when grown at the restricitve temperature of 37 degrees C as compared to wild-type cells grown under same conditions. Control samples also include RNA extracted from mutant and wild-type cells grown at the permissive temperature of 25°C. Furthermore, de-regulation was measured not only under mitotic growth conditions (YPD and YPA) but also at two time-points during sporulation (at 6h and 10h).

ORGANISM(S): Saccharomyces cerevisiae

The autonomously replicating sequence binding factor 1 (Abf1) was initially identified as an essential DNA replication factor and later shown to be a component of the regulatory network controlling mitotic and meiotic cell cycle progression in budding yeast. The protein is thought to exert its functions via specific interaction with its target site as part of distinct protein complexes, but its roles during mitotic growth and meiotic development are only partially understood. Here, we report a c  ...[more]
