Catena-Poly[[(1,10-phenanthroline-κN,N')copper(I)]-μ-thiocyanato-κN:S-[(1,10-phenanthroline-κN,N')copper(I)]-μ-cyanido-κN:C].

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cu(2)(CN)(NCS)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], which was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions, both Cu(I) atoms have a slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. They are coordinated by two N atoms of one 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, one bridging thio-cyanate anion and one bridging cyanide anion. In the crystal structure, infinite helical {Cu-CN-Cu-SCN}(n) chains are formed along [01].

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, {[Cu(CN)(C(12)H(10)N(2))]·0.5C(2)H(5)OH}(n), there are two Cu(I) ions, two 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands and two cyanide ions in the asymmetric unit along with a highly disordered ethanol solvent mol-ecule, which was modelled as being disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.829?(7):0.171?(7) ratio. The orientation/ordering of the C and N atoms of the cyanide ions could not be determined in the present refinement and they were modelled as being statistically disordered. Both copper ions are coordinated by an N,N'-bidentate phen ligand and two cyanide ligands, generating distorted tetra-hedral CuN(2)Q(2) (Q = C or N) tetra-hedra. The ?-cyanide ligands link the metal ions, forming a zigzag chain propagating in [001]. The chains are cross-linked by numerous aromatic ?-? stacking contacts between adjacent phen rings [minimum centroid-centroid separation = 3.620?(3)?Å].

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(3)(CN)(3)(C(12)H(12)N(2))(2)], two 2,2'-bipyridine N,N'-chelated Cu(I) atoms are linked by a cyanide bridge that lies about a center of inversion; the Cu(I) atom exists in a tetra-hedral coordination geometry. This dinuclear entity is linked to another Cu(I) atom that lies on a twofold rotation axis by another cyanide bridge, these bridges giving rise to the formation of a linear chain motif.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Mn(NO(3))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))](n), the Mn(II) atoms are linked by nitrate ligands to form a chain. Each Mn(II) atom is five-coordinated by two N atoms of a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and three O atoms of two nitrates within a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. In the crystal structure, the chains are linked by hydrogen bonds into a polymeric ribbon structure.

Project description:In the title complex, {[Zn(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))]·H(2)O}(n), the Zn(II) ion is in a distorted octa-hedral environment, defined by two N atoms from a chelating 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand and one N atom and three O atoms from two pyridine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate (2,3-pydc) ligands. The bridging 2,3-pydc ligands connect the Zn(II) ions into a chain extending along [010]. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the uncoordinated water mol-ecules and the uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atoms, as well as π-π inter-actions between the pyridine rings of the phen ligands [centroid-centroid distance = 3.557 (2) Å], are observed.

Project description:The title compound, [CuPd(CN)(4)(C(4)H(12)N(2))(2)](n), consists of one-dimensional chains. The Cu and Pd atoms are both located on centers of symmetry in an alternating array of [Cu(N-Eten)(2)](2+) (N-Eten = N-ethyl-ethylenediamine) and [Pd(CN)(4)](2-) units. The Pd-C distances of 1.991 (3) and 1.992 (3) Å are inter-mediate values compared with the analogous Ni(II) and Pt(II) complexes [Akitsu & Einaga (2007 ▶). Inorg. Chim. Acta, 360, 497-505]. Due to Jahn-Teller effects, the axial Cu-N bond distance of 2.548 (2) Å is noticeably longer than the equatorial distances [Cu-NH(2) = 2.007 (2) and Cu-NHC(2)H(5) = 2.050 (2) Å]. There are interchain hybrogen bonds, with N(-H)⋯N = 3.099(4) Å.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(CN)(SCN)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), contains two crystallographically independent Cu(I) atoms, each in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Each Cu atom is coordinated by a bidentate chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand. A bridging cyanide anion links the two Cu(2,2'-bipyridine) units to form a binuclear unit. Adjacent binuclear units are connected by a thio-cyanate anion into a one-dimensional helical chain along [010]. The cyanide anion is disordered, with each site occupied by both C and N atoms in an occupancy ratio of 0.61 (5):0.39 (5). The S atom of the thio-cyanate anion is also disordered over two sites, with occupancy factors of 0.61 (3) and 0.39 (3). There are π-π inter-actions between the pyridyl rings of neighbouring chains [centroid-centroid distance = 3.82 (1) Å].

Project description:The title complex, {[Cd(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), is a one-dimensional coordination polymer, wherein the Cd atom is seven-coordinated by two 1,10-phenanthroline N atoms, one N and three O atoms from two different pyridine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, and one water mol-ecule. It is further extended to a two-dimensional layer structure by hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances of 3.560 (2) and 3.666 (2) Å]. There is a C4 water chain in the structure whose repeat unit contains four water mol-ecules with O⋯O distances in the range 2.748 (3)-2.795 (4) Å. One of the two H atoms of each water of hydration is statistically distributed over two positions with equal occupancy.

Project description:In the title coupound, [Mn(C(9)H(6)O(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))](n), the Mn(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms [Mn-N = 2.273 (3) and 2.305 (2) Å] from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and four O atoms [Mn-O = 2.112 (2)-2.343 (3) Å] from three 5-methyl-isophthalate (mip) ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Each mip dianion acts as a tetra-dentate ligand connecting three Mn ions. The crystal packing exhibits π-π inter-actions [3.599 (2)-3.755 (2) Å] between the centroids of the six-membered rings of neighbouring 1,10-phenanthroline ligands.

Project description:The title complex, [Pr(2)(C(8)H(7)O(3))(6)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), which has an inversion centre midway between the two Pr(III) atoms of the structural unit, forms a one-dimensional polymer bridged alternately by either two bidentate, or two bidentate and two terdentate, phenoxy-acetate carboxyl-ate groups. Each Pr(III) atom is thus nine-coordinated by two N atoms of a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and seven O atoms from six phenoxy-acetate ligands. The coordination geometry at the Pr(III) atom is distorted tricapped trigonal prismatic. One phenyl ring is disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are ca 0.6 and 0.4.
