Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(13)H(13)Cl(2)NO(3))(C(3)H(7)NO)], the Cu(II) atom is coordinated in a slightly distorted square-planar geometry by two O atoms and one N atom from the tridentate chiral ligand 2-[(3,5-dichloro-2-oxidobenzyl-idene)amino]-3-methyl-penta-noate and by one O atom from dimethyl-formamide. In the crystal structure, the Cu atom forms contacts with Cl and O atoms of two units (Cu⋯Cl and Cu⋯O = 3.401 and 2.947 Å, respectively), thereby forming an approximately octa-hedral arrangement. A three-dimensional network is constructed through Cl⋯Cu, O⋯Cu, Cl⋯Cl contacts and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title complex [CuCl(C12H8N2)2]2[Fe(CN)5(NO)]·C3H7NO, consists of discrete [Cu(phen)2Cl](+) cations (phen is 1,10-phenanthroline), [Fe(CN)5NO](2-) anions and one di-methyl-formamide (DMF) solvent mol-ecule of crystallization per asymmetric unit. The Cu(II) atom is coordinated by two phenanthroline ligands and one chloride ion in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The dihedral angle between the phen ligands is 77.92?(7)°. The cation charge is balanced by a disordered nitro-prusside counter-anion with the Fe(II) atom located on an inversion center with a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the crystal, weak C-H?N and C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds connect anions and cations into a two-dimensional network parallel to (100). In addition, ?-? stacking inter-actions are observed with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.565?(2)-3.760?(3)Å. The di-methyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule was refined as disordered about an inversion center.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex [Cu(C14H12N2)2]2[Fe(CN)5(NO)], consists of a [Cu(dmp)2](+) cation (dmp is 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) and half an [Fe(CN)5(NO)](2-) anion. The anion is disordered across an inversion center with the Fe(II) ion slightly offset (ca 0.205Å) from the inversion center in the direction of the disordered trans-coordinating CN/NO ligands. The anion has a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The Cu(I) ion is coordinated by two phenanthroline ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The dihedral angle between the phenanthroline ligands is 77.16?(4)?Å. In the crystal, the cations are connected to the anions by weak C-H?N hydrogen bonds. In addition, weak ?-? stacking inter-actions are observed, with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.512?(3)-3.859?(3)?Å.

The phenanthroline chelate ring plane is slightly distorted from planarity (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0057?Å), whereas the five-membered ring formed by the valinate ligand presents an envelope conformation with the N atom being the flap atom. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, creating a three-dimensional network superstructure.

Project description:The structure of the the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(7)H(3)ClO(3))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)]·2H(2)O, consists of a dimeric unit involving a planar Cu(2)O(2) group arranged around an inversion center. The coordination sphere of the Cu(II) atom can be described as an elongated distorted square pyramid where the basal plane is formed by the two N atoms of the 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule and the two O atoms of the hydroxy-chloro-benzoate (hcbe) anion. The long apical Cu-O distance of 2.569 (2) Å involves the O atom of a symmetry-related hcbe anion, building up the dinuclear unit. Each dinuclear unit is connected through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving two water mol-ecules, resulting in an R(4) (2)(8) graph-set motif and building up an infinite chain parallel to (10). C-H⋯O inter-actions further stabilize the chain.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the mononuclear mixed-ligand title complex, [Cd(C13H18NO3)2(C12H8N2)]·2H2O, contains two crystallographically independent mol-ecules that differ insignificantly in their geometrical parameters. In both, the CdII cation lies on a twofold rotation axis and is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral fashion to two monodeprotonated residues of the l-leucine-derived ligand (S)-2-(2-hy-droxy-benzyl-amino)-4-methyl-penta-noic acid (L), as well as to a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand in a ?2 N,N' mode. The former coordinate in an N,O-chelating mode, exhibiting a trans-N,N' mutual disposition. The phenolic oxygen donor groups remain protonated and do not coordinate to the cation but take part in intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonding results in the formation of a three-dimensional network structure. The contribution to the electron density of two disordered water mol-ecules was removed with the SQUEEZE procedure in PLATON [Spek (2015 ?). Acta Cryst. C71, 9-18]. The studied crystal was refined as a two-component inversion twin. The title complex was also characterized by IR and 1H NMR spectroscopic methods.
