[η-2,3-Bis(trimethylsilyl)-2,3-dicarba-nido-hexaborane(2-)]chlorido(N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine)dysprosium(III).

ABSTRACT: The structure of the title compound, [Dy(C(8)H(22)B(4)Si(2))Cl(C(6)H(16)N(2))], reveals that a center of symmetry exists within the dimeric half-sandwich units. Within each half-sandwich, the Dy(III) ion is coordinated by the five-membered ring of the carborane, tetramethylethyl-enediamine and the chloride ion.

Project description:The mol-ecular geometry of the complex cation in the title structure, [(μ-Cl)(3){Ru(II)(η(6)-C(6)Me(6))}(2)][Fe(III)Cl(4)], compares very well with that reported earlier for the corresponding PF(6) (-) salt [Pandey et al. (1999 ▶). J. Organomet. Chem.592, 278-282]. The [FeCl(4)](-) counter ion has a rather regular tetra-hedral geometry with Fe-Cl distances and Cl-Fe-Cl angles in the range 2.1891 (7)-2.2018 (8) Å and 107.10 (3)-110.56 (3)°, respectively. There are no significant inter-molecular inter-actions in the crystal except for some weak C-H⋯Cl contacts, which in turn indicates that the crystal packing is determined predominantly by electrostatic inter-actions between the ionic constituents.

Project description:In the title mol-ecular salt, C9H17N2 (+)·C2H12B9 (-), the carborane cage has a bridging B-H-B bond on the open B3C2 face. The butyl side chain of the cation adopts an extended conformation [C-C-C-C = 179.6 (1)°]. In the crystal, the imidazolium ring is almost coplanar with the open face of the carborane anion. The cations stack in the [010] direction and the dihedral angle between the imidazolium rings of adjacent cations is 68.45 (6)°. The butyl chains extend into the space between carborane anions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Ir2Cl4(C12H19)2], a versatile starting material for the preparation of uniquely substituted penta-alkyl-cyclo-penta-dien-yl-iridium complexes, consists of an iridium(III) atom, a substituted cyclo-penta-dienyl ligand and two chlorine ligands. The full dimer is generated by an inversion center. In the dimer, the two Ir(III) atoms and two bridging Cl atoms form a perfectly planar ring. The two Ir(III) atoms and the two terminal Cl atoms also form a rigorous plane that is orthogonal [89.48 (3)°] to the Ir2Cl2 ring. The plane of the cyclo-penta-dienyl ligand forms a dihedral angle of 54.06 (7)° with respect to the Ir2Cl2 ring.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(4)H(6)N(3)O)(2)[InCl(5)(H(2)O)], comprises two independent cytosinium cations and an aquapentachloridoindate anion. The In(III) ion is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the crystal, alternating layers of cations and anions are arranged along [010] and are linked via inter-molecular N-H⋯O, O-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming sheets parallel to (001).
