ABSTRACT: The title complex, dichlorido[N,N-di-methyl-2-(?(5)-tetra-methyl-cyclo-penta-dien-yl)acetamidinido-?N']titanium(IV), [Ti(C(13)H(20)N(2))Cl(2)], exhibits an unusual ansa-bridged conformation. The cyclo-penta-dienyl ring and the mean plane of the Ti-N=C-C-C fragment form a dihedral angle of 88.08?(11)°.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ru(C(7)H(8))(C(10)H(15))]PF(6), the cation lies on a mirror plane and the anion lies on an inversion center. The distance between the Ru atom and the centroid of the benzene ring is 1.706 (5) Å and the distance between the Ru atom and the cyclo-penta-dienyl ring is 1.811 (5) Å. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds. The H atoms of the methyl groups which lie on the mirror plane are disordered over two sites with equal occupancies.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, deca-methyl-cobaltocene, [Co(C(10)H(15))(2)], has been determined. High-quality single crystals were grown from a cold saturated hexa-methyl-disiloxane solution. The structure is related to the manganese and iron analogs. The molecule has D(5d) symmetry, with the Co atom in a crystallographic 2/m position. The cobalt-centroid(C(5)) distance is 1.71Å and the centroid(C(5))-Co-centroid(C(5)) angle is 180°, by symmetry.

Project description:In the title complex mol-ecule, [Ti(C(10)H(15))(2)I], the paramagnetic Ti(III) atom is coordinated by two penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp*) ligands and one iodide ligand. The two Cp* ligands are in a staggered orientation. The coordination geometry at the titanium atom can be described as distorted trigonal-planar.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ru(C(10)H(15))(C(7)H(9)NO(2)S)]C(24)H(20)B, has been determined as part of our investigation into the structural and biological properties of organometallic Ru(II)-arene-Cp* complex salts of the type [R-PhRuCp*](+)·X(-) (where Cp* is penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-diene). Tethering the RuCp* group to the benzene ring of p-toluene-sulfonamide results in only minor changes to the mol-ecular geometry of the sulfonamide, but, together with crystallization as the [BPh(4)](-) salt, effectively blocks involvement of the sulfonamide group in N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding networks.

Project description:The title compound, [Hf(3)(C(6)H(7))(6)Cl(2)O(2)], is a trinuclear mol-ecule having two (MeCp)(2)HfCl units (MeCp is methyl-cyclo-penta-dien-yl) each connected to an (MeCp)(2)Hf unit by an oxide bridge. The two Hf-O-Hf bridges are nearly linear. The geometry of the three Hf atoms is tetra-hedral (assuming the MeCp group occupies one coordination site); the O-Hf-O angle is 99.8 (5)°. One of the Cl atoms is disordered, with site occupancies of 0.61 (7) and 0.39 (7).

Project description:The title compound, [Al(C10H15)2][AlBr4], was formed during the reduction of a mixture of Cp*AlBr2 and AlBr3. The Al(III) atoms of the two crystallographically independent cations each lie on an inversion center, and the [AlBr4](-) anions are on general positions. At 123 K, the structure exhibits disorder in two of the Br atoms of the [AlBr4](-) ion, with a ratio occupancy of 0.733 (6): 0.267 (3). In the crystal, there is possible weak hydrogen bonding between some methyl groups and Br atoms. The interactions link the moieties in a three-dimensional array.

Project description:The title compound, [TiW(C(5)H(5))(2)(C(7)H(5)O)Cl(CO)(5)], consists of two metal centres, with a (tungstenpenta-carbon-yl)oxy-phenyl-carbene unit coordinated by a titanocene chloride. The oxycarbene group is nearly planar, with the phenyl ring twisted by an angle of 39.1 (2)° with respect to this plane. One of the cyclo-penta-dienyl rings undergoes an offset face-to-face π-π inter-action [3.544 (6) Å] with the symmetry-related cyclo-penta-dienyl ring of a neighbouring mol-ecule.

Project description:The title complex, [Ru(C(10)H(15))(C(10)H(13)NO(2))](C(24)H(20)B)·C(3)H(6)O, is related to the analogous O-methyl complex. The average Ru-C distance to the penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp*) group is 2.19 (3) Å, and 2.21 (1) Å to the ortho, meta and para C atoms of the arene ring. The Ru-C(ipso) bond length of 2.272 (3) Å is significantly longer, reflecting movement of the Ru atom away from the C atoms with electronegative substituents attached. The amide H atom in the cation forms an inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond with the carbonyl O atom of the acetone solvent mol-ecule. A C-H⋯O inter-action also occurs.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C10H15)(C2H4)2], was prepared by Na/Hg reduction of [Co2(C10H15)2(μ-Cl)2] in THF under an ethyl-ene atmosphere and crystallized from pentane at 193 K. The Co-C(olefin) bonds have an average length of 2.022 (2) Å, while the Co-C(penta-dien-yl) bonds average 2.103 (19) Å. The olefin C=C bonds are 1.410 (1) Å. The dihedral angle between the planes defined by the cyclo-penta-dienyl ligand and the two olefin ligands is 0.25 (12)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into chains by C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, [ZrBr(2)(C(12)H(14)Si)], possesses a crystallographically imposed twofold rotational symmetry with the rotation axis passing through the Zr and Si atoms. The Zr(IV) centre is in a distorted tetra-hedral environment defined by two Cp rings of chelating organic ligands and two Br anions. Two five-membered rings form a dihedral angle of 59.7 (2)°. Unequal Zr-C bonds [2.471 (3)-2.556 (3) Å] in the mol-ecule indicate that the inter-action of the central metal with the [(C(5)H(4))(2)SiMe(2)](2-) ligand contains noticeable η(3)-allyl and η(2)-olefin contributions.
