ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Na(C(12)H(24)O(6))](2)[InNa(NCS)(6)(C(12)H(24)O(6))]·1.5C(2)H(4)Cl(2), has been synthesized by the reaction of 18-crown-6 with InCl(3) and NaSCN. The In atom has a six-coordinate octa-hedral environment, being bonded to the N atoms of six thio-cyanate groups. The bond lengths and angles show normal values. The crystal packing exhibits no significantly short inter-molecular contacts.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title mononuclear Ni(II) compound, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(8)H(12)N(2))(2)], contains two independent half-mol-ecules, the Ni atoms of which lie on crystallographic inversion centres. Each Ni(II) ion is chelated by two N atoms from two N-phenyl-ethane-1,2-diamine ligands and is also coordinated by two N atoms from two thio-cyanate ligands, giving a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to (100) by N-H?S inter-actions.

Project description:The reaction of manganese seleno-cyanate with 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethane (bpa) leads to the title compound, {[Mn(NCSe)2(C12H12N2)(CH3OH)2]·C12H12N2} n . The Mn(II) cation is coordinated by two N-bonded seleno-cyanate anions, two bpa ligands and two O-bonded methanol mol-ecules, within a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Mn(II) cations and the non-coordinating N-donor ligands are located on centers of inversion while the coordinating N-donor co-ligands are located on a twofold rotation axis. In the crystal, the Mn(II) cations are linked into chains along the c-axis direction by the bpa ligands. The chains are further connected via a non-coordinating bpa ligand into layers parallel to (3-10) via O-H?N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

These ribbons inter-associate down b, giving a two-dimensional sheet structure. The seven-coord-inated tungsten(II) centres display distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometries with trans nitrosyl and chloride ligands. The title mol-ecule lies on a crystallographic inversion centre. The ethane group of the non-bridging depe ligand is positionally disordered, with site-occupancy factors of 0.63 and 0.37. In the crystal structure, the binuclear mol-ecules are linked by weak inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?Cl inter-actions. In addition, weak intra-molecular C-H?Cl inter-actions are also present.
