2-[3-(2-Pyrid-yl)pyrazin-2-yl]pyridinium tetra-chloridoaurate(III).

ABSTRACT: In the anion of the title compound, (C(14)H(11)N(4))[AuCl(4)], the Au(III) atom has an almost perfect square-planar coordination. In the crystal structure, an intra-molecular N-H?N and intermolecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds are observed. In addition, there is also a ring-metal inter-action between the pyrazine ring and the Au(III) atom; the distance between the centroid of the pyrazine ring and the Au(III) atom is 3.628?(2)?Å.

In the anion of the title compound, (C(14)H(11)N(4))[AuCl(4)], the Au(III) atom has an almost perfect square-planar coordination. Project description:In the title compound, (C(24)H(18)N(6))[AuCl(4)](2), the cation is located on an inversion center. Each of the two independent Au(III) ions lies on an inversion center and has a distorted square-planar geometry. In the crystal, inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.5548 (16) and 3.7507 (16) Å] and Au⋯π inter-actions [Au⋯centroid distance = 3.6424 (10) Å] are effective in the stabilization of the structure, resulting in the formation of a supra-molecular structure. Intra-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds are present in the cation.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(10)H(9)N(2))[Fe(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)]·4H(2)O or (bpyH)[Fe(pydc)(2)]·4H(2)O, the asymmetric unit contains an [Fe(pydc)(2)](-) (pydcH(2)= pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid) anion, a protonated 4,4'-bipyridine as a counter-ion, (bpyH)(+), and four uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The anion is a six-coordinate complex with a distorted octa-hedral geometry around the Fe(III )atom. A wide range of non-covalent inter-actions, i.e. O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, ion pairing, C-O⋯π [3.431 (2) Å] and C-H⋯π stacking inter-actions result in the formation of a three-dimensional network structure.

Project description:The title compound, (C(10)H(9)N(2))[Cr(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)]·4H(2)O or (4,4'-bipyH)[Cr(pydc)(2)]·4H(2)O (where 4,4'-bipy is 4,4'-bipyridine and pydcH(2) is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid), was synthesized by the reaction of chromium(III) chloride hexa-hydrate with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and 4,4'-bipyridine in a 1:2:4 molar ratio in aqueous solution. This compound is composed of an anionic complex, [Cr(pydc)(2)](-), protonated 4,4'-bipyridine as a counter-ion, (4,4'-bipyH)(+), and four uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The anion is a six-coordinate complex with a distorted octa-hedral geometry around the Cr(III) atom, formed by two tridentate pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate, pydc(2-), groups. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and C-O⋯π stacking inter-actions (with distances of 3.3390 (13) and 3.4575 (13) Å) connect the various components into a supra-molecular structure.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, (C(10)H(9)N(2))[Bi(NO(3))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))], consists of 2-(2-pyrid-yl)pyridinium cations and anions [Bi(NO(3))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))](-). The Bi(3+) ion lies on the twofold axis. It is coordinated by two nitro-gen atoms from one 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and eight oxygen atoms from four NO(3) (-) anions. The disordered cation is positioned at the inversion centre. The [Bi(NO(3))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))](-) anions and 2-(2-pyrid-yl)pyridinium cations are connected via N-H?O hydrogen bonds into chains. Moreover, these chains are further linked into a two-dimensional layered structure through ?-? stacking inter-actions between bipyridine ligands along the c axis [centroid-centroid distance = 2.868?(4)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, [Fe(C(6)H(4)N(5))(2)Cl(H(2)O)], was synthesized by hydro-thermal reaction of FeCl(3) with 2-(1H-tetra-zol-5-yl)pyridine. The iron(III) metal centre exhibits a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry provided by four N atoms from two bidentate organic ligands, one water O atom and one chloride anion. The pyridine and tetra-zole rings are nearly coplanar [dihedral angles = 4.32?(15) and 5.04?(14)°]. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds link the complex mol-ecules into a two-dimensional network parallel to (100).
