{2,6-Bis[(4-bromo-phen-yl)imino-meth-yl]pyridine-κN,N',N''}trichlorido-chromium(III).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [CrCl(3)(C(19)H(13)Br(2)N(3))], the Cr(3+ )ion is coordinated by the tridentate 2,6-bis-[(4-bromo-phen-yl)imino-meth-yl]pyridine Schiff base ligand in a fac-octa-hedral geometry. The dihedral angles between the pyridine and benzene rings are 23.9 (6) and 70.7 (1)°.

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C7H7Br2N, the C-Br vectors of the bromo-methyl groups extend to opposite sides of the pyridine ring and are oriented nearly perpendicular to its plane. In the crystal, the mol-ecules related by a c-glide-plane operation are arranged into stacks along the c axis, with centroid-centroid distances between neighboring aromatic rings of 3.778 (2) Å. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [NiCl(2)(C(19)H(9)F(6)N(3))], contains one half-mol-ecule residing on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis. The title compound crystallizes in space group C2/c while the previously reported polymorph was reported in P2(1)/c [Baldovino-Pantaleón et al. (2006 ▶). Adv. Synth. Catal.348, 236-242]. The Ni(2+) ion exhibits a penta-coordinate distorted trigonal-bipyramidal NiCl(2)N(3) geometry, with two Cl atoms in the equatorial plane. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular C-F⋯π [F⋯centroid = 2.9676 (14) Å] inter-actions.

Project description:The Cu(II) atom in the title complex, [CuCl(2)(C(12)H(9)IN(2))], has a square-planar coordination being N,N'-chelated by the Schiff base ligand, and by two Cl atoms. The geometry is distorted towards square pyramidal owing to a long Cu⋯Cl inter-action of 2.941 (1) Å. This results in the formation of a zigzag chain structure propagating in the c-axis direction.
