ABSTRACT: The title compound, [V(2)F(2)O(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], is a centrosymmetric binuclear vanadium(V) species with the metal ions in a distorted octa-hedral environment. The symmetry-equivalent V(V) atoms exhibit coordination geometries defined by cis-terminal fluoride and oxide groups, unsymmetrically bridging oxide groups and the N-atom donors of the phenanthroline ligands. The crystal packing is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?F hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Mo(2)F(2)O(5)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], is a centrosymmetric binuclear molybdenum(VI) species with the metal atoms in a distorted octa-hedral environment. The coordination geometries of the symmetry-equivalent molybdenum sites are defined by the cis-terminal oxide groups and the N-atom donors of the bipyridyl ligand in the equatorial plane with axial F and bridging O atoms. The bridging O atom occupies a center of symmetry. The mol-ecules stack in the a-axis direction, and the crystal packing is stabilized by weak intra- and inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?F hydrogen bonds.

The V(V) atom is six-coordinated by three oxide O atoms, one O atom from a vanillinate ligand and two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand in a significantly distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal structure, weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In comparison with the previous determination [Saussine, Mimoun, Mitschler & Fisher (1980 ?). Nouv. J. Chim.4, 235-237] of the title compound, [V(2)(C(4)H(10)NO)(4)O(3)], the current study reports an improved precision of the derived geometric parameters, along with the deposition of all coordinates and displacement parameters. The two V(V) atoms are each surrounded by two deprotonated N,O-bidentate diethyl-hydroxy-laminate groups, and a terminal and a bridging oxide ligand, in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The crystal packing is accomplished by van der Waals inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(12)H(12)N(2))[Ta(2)F(10)O], the doubly protonated 5,6-dihydro-1,10-phenantroline-1,10-diium cation is located on a twofold rotation axis, whereas the isolated [Ta(2)OF(10)](2-) dianion has -1 symmetry. In the so far unknown dianion, the symmetry-related Ta(V) atoms are octa-hedrally coordinated by five F atoms and a bridging O atom, the latter being located on an inversion centre. The two pyridine rings in the cation make a dihedral angle of 22.8?(4)°. The cations and dianions are arranged in layers parallel to (100) and are connected through N-H?F and C-H?F hydrogen-bonding inter-actions into a three-dimensional structure.

The two L dianions are situated across inversion centres and bridge neighbouring Zn(II) centres, yielding a chain propagating parallel to [100]. O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water molecule, the solvent water molecule (half-occupied) and the carboxylate O atoms further stabilize the structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)](2)[W(6)O(19)], consists of two [Cu(phen)(2)](+) cations (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) and one typical [W(6)O(19)](2-) isopolyanion. The Cu(I) atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two bidentate chelating phen ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The hexa-tungstate anion, lying on an inversion center and possessing the well known Lindqvist structure, is formed by six edge-sharing WO(6) octa-hedra, thus exhibiting an approximate O(h) symmetry. Three kinds of O atoms exist in the hexa-tungstate, viz. terminal O(a), bridging O(b) and central O(c) atoms. Besides the electrostatic effects between the anions and cations, weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds exist between the phen ligands and O(a) or O(b) atoms. The mean inter-planar distances of 3.485?(1) and 3.344?(1)?Å indicate ?-? stacking inter-actions between neighboring phen ligands. These weak hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions lead to a two-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, (C4H14N2)2[Mo2O4F6]·H2O, was obtained by solvothermal reaction at 443?K for 72?h from a mixture of MoO3, HF, 1,4-diamino-butane (dab), water and ethyl-ene glycol. The structure consists of [Mo2O4F6](4-) anionic dimers containing strongly distorted MoO3F3 octa-hedra (with twofold symmetry), diprotonated dab cations and water mol-ecules (twofold symmetry) in the ratio 1:2:1. The cohesion of the three-dimensional structure is ensured through N-H?O, N-H?F and O-H?F inter-actions.
