Poly[(μ(3)-camphorato-κO:O':O'')(2-methyl-1H-imidazole-κN)zinc(II)].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Zn(C(10)H(14)O(4))(C(4)H(6)N(2))](n), each Zn(II) ion is coordinated by one N atom from one 2-methyl-1H-imidazole ligand and three O atoms from two camphorate (cap) ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. In one of the cap ligands, one methyl group is disordered between positions 1 and 3 in a 0.518 (12):0.482 (12) ratio. Each cap ligand bridges three Zn(II) ions, forming two-dimensional layers, which inter-act further via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Each Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms [Zn-N = 1.996 (6) and 2.032 (5) Å] and two O atoms [Zn-O = 1.930 (4) and 1.976 (4) Å] in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Weak C-H⋯O inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing stability.

Project description:In the title complex, [Zn(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(C(4)H(6)N(2))(2)](n), the carboxyl-ate groups of the 3-nitro-phthalate dianion ligand coordinate the Zn(II) ion in a bis-monodentate mode. The Zn(II) ion shows distorted tetra-hedral coordination as it is bonded to two O atoms from the carboxyl-ate groups of symmetry-related 3-nitro-phthalate anions and two N atoms of two independent 1-methyl-imidazole mol-ecules. The bridging 3-nitro-phthalate ligand allows the formation of one-dimensional chains in the c direction. The crystal structure is further stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(2)O(4))(C(5)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), is composed of one-dimensional linear chains running parallel to the a axis. In the chain, trans-[Cu(imidazole)(2)](2+) units are sequentially bridged by bis-bidentate oxalate ligands, resulting in an octa-hedral CuO(4)N(2) donor set. The Cu⋯Cu separation through the oxalate bridge is 5.620 (5) Å. Both the Cu atoms and the C-C bond of the oxalate bridge are bis-ected by inversion centres.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [Cu(2)(NO(2))(4)(C(5)H(8)N(2))(4)], the asymmetric unit consists of two moieties containing one Cu ion, two nitrite ions and two 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole mol-ecules associated via weak Cu-O inter-actions. Each Cu(II) atom displays an elongted square-pyramidal CuN(2)O(3) coordination geometry with a slight tetra-hedral distortion in the basal plane. The dimeric units are linked into a three-dimensional network by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
