ABSTRACT: The structure of the title compound, [NaRuCl(4)(C(2)H(6)OS)(2)](n), comprises centrosymmetric [RuCl(2)(DMSO)Na(DMSO)Cl(2)Ru] units (DMSO is dimethyl sulfoxide, C(2)H(6)OS), with two Ru atoms, each lying on a crystallographic centre of inversion, connected via Na atoms, DMSO and chloride ligands into a two-dimensional (110) array. Both Ru(III) atoms are octa-hedrally coordinated by four chloride ligands in the equatorial plane and by two DMSO mol-ecules in apical positions within a RuCl(4)S(2) donor set. The Na atom is surrounded by three chloride anions and three O atoms derived from three DMSO mol-ecules, with the resulting Cl(3)O(3) donor set defining an octa-hedron. The crystal structure is further stabilized by inter-atomic inter-actions of the types C?Cl [C-Cl = 3.284?(2)?Å], C-H?Cl [C?Cl = 3.903?(3)?Å] and C-H?O [C?O = 3.376?(3)?Å].

Project description:The title complex, [NaRuCl(4)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(C(2)H(6)OS)(2)](n), is the sodium salt of monoanionic octa-hedral [Ru(III)Cl(4)(pyrimidine)(DMSO)](-) in which the sulfur-bound dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and pyrimidine ligand are oriented trans to one another on the Ru(III) atom. The average of the four Ru-Cl bond lengths is 2.355?(15)?Å, and the Ru-S and Ru-N bond lengths are 2.2853?(3) and 2.1165?(11)?Å, respectively. The complex forms a chain, with a six-coordinate sodium ion bridging the ruthenium(III) units. The sodium cation is coordinated by cis-chloride ligands on ruthenium [Na-Cl = 2.9576?(7) and 2.6988?(7)?Å], chloride and DMSO ligands from the ruthenium complexes related by inversion [Na-Cl and Na-O = 2.8888?(7) and 2.2623?(12)?Å, respectively], a nitro-gen ligand from the pyrimidine of the tetrachlorido-ruthenium(III) complex related by the twofold rotation axis [Na-N = 2.5224?(14)?Å] and an oxygen-bound DMSO [Na-O = 2.3165?(12)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, (C(8)H(15)N(2))[LaCl(4)(CH(3)OH)(C(3)H(7)OH)], consists of one 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium (BMI(+)) cation and one hexa-hedral tetra-chlorido(methanol)(propan-2-ol)lanthanate anion. The La(III) ion is eight-coordinate, with the La(III) ion bridged by a pair of Cl atoms, so forming chains propagating along the a-axis direction. Each La(III) ion is further coordinated by two isolated Cl atoms, one methanol and one propan-2-ol mol-ecule. The coordinated methanol and propan-2-ol mol-ecules of the anion form O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds with the Cl atoms of inversion-related anions. The BMI(+) cation froms C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds with the Cl atoms of the anion. The anions are located in the C faces of the triclinic unit cell, with an inversion center in the middle of the La(2)Cl(2) ring of the polymeric chain.

Project description:Dimeric mol-ecules of the title compound, [Ru(2)Cl(4)(C(12)H(18))(2)], are located on a crystallographic centre of inversion with one mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The hexa-methyl-benzene rings are in an η(6)-coordination to the ruthenium centres, which are bridged by two chloride ligands. In addition, the ruthenium centres are bonded to another chloride ligand. The aromatic rings and the Ru(2)Cl(2) four-membered ring enclose a dihedral angle of 55.85 (6)°.

Project description:The mol-ecular geometry of the complex cation in the title structure, [(?-Cl)(3){Ru(II)(?(6)-C(6)Me(6))}(2)][Fe(III)Cl(4)], compares very well with that reported earlier for the corresponding PF(6) (-) salt [Pandey et al. (1999 ?). J. Organomet. Chem.592, 278-282]. The [FeCl(4)](-) counter ion has a rather regular tetra-hedral geometry with Fe-Cl distances and Cl-Fe-Cl angles in the range 2.1891?(7)-2.2018?(8)?Å and 107.10?(3)-110.56?(3)°, respectively. There are no significant inter-molecular inter-actions in the crystal except for some weak C-H?Cl contacts, which in turn indicates that the crystal packing is determined predominantly by electrostatic inter-actions between the ionic constituents.

Project description:The title compound, {(C7H6NS)2[Sb2Cl6O]} n , contains two benzo-thia-zolidium cations and one tri-μ-chlorido-tri-chlorido-μ-oxido-di-anti-monate(III) anion. The structure of the inorganic cation may be described as as being built up from two polyhedra, i.e. a square-pyramidal SbCl4O and a distorted octa-hedral SbOCl5 unit, sharing a common face (comprising the O atom and two Cl atoms). The two benzo-thia-zole cations are quasi-planar and subtend a dihedral angle of 19.93 (5)°. The crystal packing can be described by alternating (100) layers and [001] chains of the organic cations and inorganic anions connected through an extensive three-dimensional network of N-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. This is consolidated by slipped π-π stacking, with centroid-to-centroid distances between the benzo-thia-zole rings of 3.7111 (18)-3.8452 (16) Å. These inter-actions link the mol-ecules within the layers and also link the layers together and reinforce the cohesion of the ionic structure.

O-H?Cl and N-H?O hydrogen bonds mediated by non-coordinating water mol-ecules assemble these chains into a three-dimensional framework. The As(III) atom, the atoms of the pyridinium ring and the water O atom have m site symmetry and the bridging Cl atom has site symmetry 2. This is the first reported organotrichloro-arsenate(III) in which arsenic adopts a ?-octa-hedral fivefold coordination.
