ABSTRACT: In the centrosymmetric binuclear title compound, [Ni(2)(C(15)H(8)O(7))(2)(H(2)O)(6)], the Ni(II) ion is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry with O(6) donors, three from three water mol-ecules, the others from three carboxylate groups of two ligands. Extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonding connects the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Mn(C(15)H(8)O(7))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(3)]·C(10)H(8)N(2)·2H(2)O}(n), the bridging mode of the coordinating 4,4'-bipyridine ligands leads to the formation of polymeric zigzag chains parallel to [0-11]. The chains are separated by 4,4'-bipyridine and water solvent mol-ecules. Within a chain, the Mn(II) atom is six-coordinated by two N atoms of the bridging 4,4'-bipyridine ligands, three water O atoms and one carboxyl-ate O atom of a single deprotonated 3-(4-carb-oxy-phen-oxy)phthalic acid ligand. Both coordinating and solvent 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecules are situated on centres of inversion. An intricate network of O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the carb-oxy group, the coordinating water mol-ecules and the two types of solvent mol-ecules leads to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(9)H(4)O(6))(H(2)O)(3)](n), the Ni(II) ion has a distorted NiO(5) square-pyramidal geometry, the maximum deviation from the least-squares plane formed by the basal atoms being 0.9351?(13)?Å. The basal plane is formed by two O atoms from carboxyl-ate residues of the 5-carb-oxy-benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and by two O atoms from water mol-ecules. The O atom of the third water mol-ecule is axially positioned, 1.7890?(19)?Å perpendicular to the basal plane. The 5-carb-oxy-benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligand bridges the metal atoms, forming a polymeric chain along the b axis. O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate groups stabilize the crystal structure.

The mol-ecule of the complex occupies a special position on an inversion centre. The Co(II) atom has a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment formed by two N atoms from two 4,4'-bipy ligands, one carboxyl-ate O atom from NPA, and three O atoms of water mol-ecules. An extensive O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen-bonding system links mol-ecules of the complex into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C(8)H(9)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment formed by two bis-chelating H(2)pimda (H(3)pimda is 2-propyl-1H-4,5-dicarb-oxy-lic acid) ligands and two coordinated water mol-ecules. In the crystal structure, a three-dimensional framework is formed by inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the solvent water mol-ecules, coordinated water mol-ecules, carboxyl-ate O atoms and the protonated N atoms of the H(2)pimda ligands. The propyl groups of each H(2)pimda ligand are disordered over two sets of sites with refined occupancies of 0.50?(2):0.50?(2) and 0.762?(11):0.238?(11). In one water solvent mol-ecule, one of the H atoms was refined as disordered over two sites of equal occupancy.
