In the reaction of pyrazine-2-carb-oxy-lic acid and stannic chloride in methanol, one equivalent of the carb-oxy-lic acid is methyl-ated at the 4-amino site and is also esterified, yielding the title salt, (C(7)H(9)N(2)O(2))[SnCl(4)(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))]. The Sn(IV) atom in the anion is N,O-chelated by a pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate in a cis-SnNOCl(4) octa-hedral geometry. ...[more]
