(Carbonato-?O,O')bis-(di-2-pyridyl-amine-?N,N')cobalt(III) bromide.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Co(CO(3))(C(10)H(9)N(3))(2)]Br, a distorted octa-hedral coordination of the Co(III) atom is completed by four N atoms of the two chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine ligands and two O atoms of the chelating carbonate anion. The di-2-pyridyl-amine ligands are nonplanar and the dihedral angles between the 2-pyridyl groups are 29.11?(9) and 37.15?(12)°. The coordination cation, which has approximate C(2) symmetry, is connected to the bromide ion via an N-H?Br(-) hydrogen bond. The ionic pair thus formed is further assembled into a dimer via N-H?O inter-actions about an inversion centre. A set of weaker C-H?O and C-H?Br(-) inter-actions connect the dimers into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(N(3))(3)(C(16)H(14)N(4))], was synthesized by hydro-thermal reaction of [Co(NH(3))(6)](NO(3))(3), NaN(3) and tris-(2-pyrid-yl)methyl-amine. The structure contains two independent complexes in the asymmetric unit, with closely comparable geometry. The Co(III) atoms are hexa-coordinated by three N atoms from the tridentate tris-(2-pyrid-yl)methyl-amine ligands and three azide ions in a fac arrangement. N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds are formed between the amino group and the uncoordinated terminal N atoms of the azide ligands.

Project description:In the title compound, K[Co(CO(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))]·2H(2)O, the Co(III) atom is coordinated by two bipyridine N atoms and four O atoms from two bidentate chelating carbonate anions, and thus adopts a distorted octa-hedral N(2)O(4) environment. The [Co(bipy)(CO(3))(2)](-) (bipy is 2,2'-bipyridine) -units are stacked along [100] via π-π stacking inter-actions, with inter-planar distances between the bipyridine rings of 3.36 (4) and 3.44 (6) Å, forming chains. Classical O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions link the chains, forming channels along (100) in which the K(+) ions reside and leading to a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

Project description:In the title complex, [Co(C(10)H(6)O(2))(C(18)H(18)N(4))]PF(6)·0.5H(2)O, the Co(III) ion is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by four N atoms from a tris-(2-pyridyl-meth-yl)amine ligand and two O atoms from a naphthalene-2,3-diolate ligand. The asymmetric unit contains two complex cations, two hexa-fluoridophosphate anions and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule. In one of the hexa-fluoridophosphate anions, four of the F aroms are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.632 (11):0.368 (11) ratio. In the crystal, the cations, anions and water mol-ecules are connected by O-H⋯O and O-H⋯F hydrogen bonds. π-π inter-actions are present between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.814 (1) Å].

The Co(II) atom displays a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry, provided by the O atoms of two monodentate ferrocene-carboxyl-ate anions and by the N and O atoms of two 2-pyridyl-methanol mol-ecule. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The search for new mol-ecular materials with inter-esting magnetic properties, using the pseudohalide azide ion and di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa, C10H9N3) as a chelating ligand, led to the synthesis and structure determination of the title compound, [Co(N3)2(dpa)2]2SO4·2H2O. The crystal structure comprises discrete [Co(dpa)2(N3)2](+) cations, sulfate anions, as well as H2O solvent mol-ecules. The Co(III) cations display a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination sphere defined by two N atoms from azide anions and four N atoms from the pyridyl rings of two dpa ligands. In the crystal, extensive C-H⋯O, N-H⋯O, and O-H⋯O inter-actions result in supra-molecular sheets that lie parallel to the ab plane. The sheets are further linked through O-H⋯N inter-actions between the water mol-ecules of one sheet and azide anions of another sheet, forming a supra-molecular framework.

Project description:In the title complex, [Co(C7H4ClO2)2(C6H6N2O)2(H2O)2], the Co(II) atom is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by two 3-chloro-benzoate (CB) anions, two nicotinamide (NA) ligands and two water mol-ecules. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two N atoms of the NA ligands in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl-ate group and the adjacent benzene ring is 9.14 (9)°, while the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 82.18 (8)°. In the crystal, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional network lying parallel to (101). π-π stacking between parallel pyridine rings of adjacent mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7765 (8) Å] further stabilizes the crystal structure.
