Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [W(C(7)H(7)NS)(CO)(5)], comprises two independent mol-ecules. In each, the W atom is coordinated by five CO groups and the S atom of the benzencarbothioamide ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The crystal packing can be described as undulating layers of W(CO)(5) and benzene-carbothio-amide parallel to (001). In the crystal, components are linked via inter-molecular N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds to form a dimeric chains along the [010] direction. Intra-molecular N-H?C inter-actions are also observed.

Project description:The title compound, [HfW(C(5)H(5))(2)(C(7)H(5)O)Cl(CO)(5)] or [W(CO)(5)(C(7)H(5)O){Hf(C(5)H(5))(2)Cl}], contains two metal centres, with a (tungstenpenta-carbon-yl)oxy-phenyl-carbene unit coordinated to a hafnocene chloride. The Hf-O-C angle is nearly linear, and the C=O distance is slightly shorter than for equivalent alkoxy-carbenes. One of the cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp) rings undergoes an offset face-to-face π-π inter-action [3.495 (7) Å] with the symmetry-related Cp ring of a neighbouring mol-ecule.

The oxycarbene group is nearly planar, with the phenyl ring twisted by an angle of 39.1 (2)° with respect to this plane. One of the cyclo-penta-dienyl rings undergoes an offset face-to-face π-π inter-action [3.544 (6) Å] with the symmetry-related cyclo-penta-dienyl ring of a neighbouring mol-ecule.

Project description:In the title complex, [W(C(3)H(6)N(2)S)(CO)(5)], the W atom displays an octa-hedral coordination with five CO mol-ecules and an imidazolidine-2-thione mol-ecule. The W(CO)(5) unit is coordinated by the cyclic thione ligand through a W-S dative bond. The W-S and C-S bond lengths are 2.599?(2) and 1.711?(9)?Å, respectively. This last distance is significantly longer than that of free cyclic thio-ureas. The geometry of the title compound suggests sp(3)-hybridization of the S atom caused by the greatly polarized linkage W-S-C bond angle, which is close to tetra-hedral [109.50?(3)°]. In the crystal packing, N-H?O and N-H?S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions stabilize the structure and build up chains parallel to [101].

Project description:In the title 2:1 adduct, [Sn(2)W(2)(C(10)H(13)NO(2))(2)(CO)(10)](2)[W(CO)(6)], the complete hexa-carbonyl-tungsten mol-ecule is generated by a crystallographic inversion centre. The heterometallic mol-ecule features a central Sn(2)O(2) core with essentially equal Sn-O(eth-oxy) bond lengths. The second eth-oxy O and amine N atoms of each N,O,O'-tridentate ligand coordinate to one Sn atom only. The NO(3) donor atoms occupy basal positions and the W atom the apical position in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry for each Sn atom. The W atoms are approximately syn to each other but the central metal core is non-planar [W-Sn⋯Sn-W pseudo-torsion angle = 43.573 (16)°]. One of the carbonyl ligands in the heterometallic mol-ecule is disordered over two orientations with equal occupancies. In the crystal, the heterometallic mol-ecules associate via C-H⋯O inter-actions, forming supra-molecular layers with undulating topology in the ab plane. These stack along the c axis, defining voids which are occupied by the W(CO)(6) mol-ecules.

The metal atom shows cis angles in the range 87.30 (16)-94.2 (2)°, and trans angles between 175.2 (2) and 178.1 (4)°. The W-CO bond trans to the pyridine N atom [1.987 (6) Å] is noticeably shorter than the others, which range between 2.036 (3) and 2.064 (3) Å, possibly due to the well-known trans effect. The distance between the W atom and the pyridine N atom is 2.278 (4) Å.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [Fe{?(5)-C(5)(CH(3))(5)}(NCCH(3))(CO)(2)]BF(4), the arrangement of ligands around the Fe atom is in a pseudo-octa-hedral three-legged piano-stool fashion in which the penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp*) ligand occupies three apical coordination sites, while the two carbonyl and one acetonitrile ligands form the basal axes of the coordination. The Fe-N bond length is 1.924?(3)?Å and the Fe-Cp* centroid distance is 1.722?Å.
