Cis-Bis(2,2'-bipyridine-?N,N')dichlorido-iron(III) perchlorate.

ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, [FeCl(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]ClO(4), the coordination around the Fe(III) atom is approximately octa-hedral. The equatorial positions are occupied by two N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridyl ligands [Fe-N = 2.121?(5) and 2.147?(5)?Å] and two Cl atoms [Fe-Cl = 2.220?(2) and 2.2074?(18)?Å]. Weak inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds and C-H?? inter-actions consolidate the crystal packing.

In the crystal structure of the title compound, [FeCl(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]ClO(4), the coordination around the Fe(III) atom is approximately octa-hedral. Project description:The title mixed aqua-fluoride complex, [CrF(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)](ClO(4))(2)·2H(2)O, has been synthesized by aqua-tion of the corresponding difluoride complex using lanthan-ide(III) ions as F(-) acceptors. The complex crystallizes with a Cr(III) ion at the center of a distorted octa-hedral coordination polyhedron with a cis arrangement of ligands. The crystal packing shows a hydrogen-bonding pattern involving water mol-ecules, the coordinated F atom and the perchlorate anions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [RhCl(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]ClO(4), consists of one unit of the cationic complex [RhCl(2)(bipy)(2)](+) and one uncoordinated perchlorate anion. The Rh(III) atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two bipyridyl ligands and two Cl atoms, forming a distorted octa-hedral environment. The Cl ligands are cis. Two intramolecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds occur in the cationic complex . In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked together by a hydrogen-bond network involving the H atoms of bipyridyl rings and perchlorate anions. Project description:In the cation of the title compound, [CoCl(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]ClO(4), the Co(II) atom displays a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. The two pyridine rings in each 2,2'-bipyridine ligand form dihedral angles of 10.75 (12) and 4.28 (13)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-ionic C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, C-H⋯π inter-actions and aromatic π-π stacking inter-actions, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.616 (7) Å.

Project description:The unit cell of the title compound, [Mn(2)(C(2)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(4)](ClO(4))(2)·C(10)H(8)N(2), consists of a binuclear cation, two perchlor-ate anions, and one solvent 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) mol-ecule. In the complex cation [Mn(2)(C(2)O(4))(C(10)N(2)H(8))(4)](2+), two Mn(II) atoms are bridged by a bis-(bidentate) oxalate ligand, each Mn(II) atom being further coordinated by two bpy ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The distance between the two six-coordinated metal atoms is 5.583?(1)?Å. ?-? stacking inter-actions [inter-planar distances between bpy rings = 3.739?(1)?Å] are essential to the supramolecular assembly. There are extensive inter-ionic C-H?O inter-actions between the cations and between the cation and anion. Three of the four perchlorate O atoms are disordered over two sets of sites with occupancy ratios of 0.852?(6):0.148?(6).

Project description:In the title complex, [PtCl(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]Cl(2)·H(2)O, the Pt(4+) ion is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment by four N atoms from the two 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and two Cl atoms. As a result of the different trans influences of the N and Cl atoms, the Pt-N bonds trans to the Cl atom are slightly longer than those trans to the N atom. The compound displays inter-molecular hydrogen bonding between the water mol-ecule and the Cl anions. There are inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.962?Å.
