ABSTRACT: The Sn(IV) atom in the three independent mol-ecules of the title compound, [Sn(C(7)H(6)Cl)(2)(C(9)H(6)NO)Cl], is N,O-chelated by the quinolin-8-olate anion and exists in a cis-C(2)SnNOCl trigonal-bipyramidal geometry; the O atom of the anion and the two benzyl C atoms lie in the equatorial plane.

Project description:In the title compound, [Sn(C(7)H(7))(C(9)H(6)NO)(2)Cl], the Sn(IV) ion is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment formed by the O and N atoms of two bis-chelating quinolin-8-olate ligands, a Cl atom and a C atom from a benzyl ligand. The axial sites are occupied by an N atom of a quinolinate ligand and the C atom of the benzyl ligand. The axial Sn-N bond is slightly shorter than the equatorial Sn-N bond.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Sn(CH(3))(C(6)H(5))(C(10)H(8)NO)Cl], consists of two independent mol-ecules, both of which have the N,O-chelated Sn(IV) atom in a cis-C(2)SnNOCl trigonal-bipyramidal geometry [C-Sn-C = 124.82?(8) and 137.69?(8)°]. The Cl atom of the mol-ecule with the smaller C-Sn-C angle inter-acts weakly with the Sn(IV) atom of the mol-ecule with the wider C-Sn-C angle at an Sn?Cl distance of 3.595?(1)?Å. Weak inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?Cl hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

The asymmetric unit contains two mol-ecules which differ only in the position of the nitro-gen-bound H atom of the triazole ring; one mol-ecule is linked to the other mol-ecule by an N-H⋯N hydrogen bond. In the second mol-ecule, two of the chloro-benzyl units are disordered over two positions in a 0.73 (1):0.27 (1) ratio. The Sn atom in both mol-ecules shows a distorted tetra-hedral SnSC(3) coordination.

Project description:The Sn(IV) cation in the title compound, [Sn(CH3)2(C10H8NO)2], is N,O-chelated by two 2-methyl-quinolin-8-olate anions and coordinated by two methyl groups in a skew-trapezoidal bipyramidal geometry. In the mol-ecule, the two quinoline ring systems are twisted to one another at 10.91?(18)°. The dimethyl-tin skeleton [C-Sn-C = 149.6?(2)°] is bent over the longer edge of the trapezoid that is defined by the four chelating atoms. Weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonding occurs in the crystal.
