ABSTRACT: The binuclear title complex, [Cu(2)Cl(4)(C(14)H(14)N(2))(2)], is located on a crystallographic inversion centre. The Cu(II) ion is in a distorted square-pyramid coordination environment formed by the bichelating N-heterocyclic ligand, two bridging Cl atoms and one terminal Cl atom. One of the bridging Cu-Cl bonds is significantly longer than the other.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Cd(3)Cl(6)(C(15)H(15)NO(2))(2)(CH(4)O)(2)](n), is based on a layered zigzag polymeric chain along the c axis. The Cd(II) ions are linked by double chlorine bridges alternating between one CdCl(4)(CH(3)OH)(2) and two CdCl(4)(C(15)H(15)NO(2)) octa-hedral coordination units. Additional intrachain N-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen-bond interactions stabilize this arrangement.

Project description:In the title compound, [ZnBr(2)(C(12)H(9)N(3)O(2))], the Zn(II) ion is bonded to two Br ions and two N atoms of the diimine ligand in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. With the exception of the Br atoms, all other atoms are disordered over two sets of sites corresponding to a 180° rotation of the mol-ecule along [[Formula: see text]02]. The refined occupancies of the components are 0.809 (2) and 0.191 (2). In addition, the crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin with a refined component ratio of 0.343 (2):0.657 (2).

Project description:The title compound, [Cu?Cl?(C??H??N?)?], is a new polymorph of a previously reported compound [Dehghanpour et al. (2011 ?). Acta Cryst. E67, m1296]. The current polymorph was obtained from an acetonitrile solution of the title compound. Like the first polymorph, it is monoclinic (space group P2?/c). The unique Cu(II) ion in the title centrosymmetric dinuclear complex is in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment formed by the bis--chelating N-heterocyclic ligand, two bridging Cl ligands and one terminal Cl ligand. In the crystal, weak C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds are observed in addition to ?-? stacking inter-actions, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.6597?(18)?Å.

The Ni(II) atom is five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry by the imine and pyridine N atoms of the Schiff base ligand, and by one terminal and two bridging Cl atoms. The Ni?Ni distance is 3.506?(2)?Å. The O atom of the furan substituent in the ligand unit is not involved in coordination to the Ni atom.

Project description:The title dimethyl sulfoxide solvate, [Hg2(C12H9ClN2)I2]·C2H6OS, features tetra-hedrally and linearly coordinated Hg(II) atoms. The distorted tetrahedral coordination sphere is defined by chelating N atoms that define an acute angle [69.6 (3)°] and two I atoms that form a wide angle [142.80 (4)°]. The linearly coordinated Hg(II) atom [177.0 (4)°] exists with a donor set defined by C and Cl atoms. Secondary inter-actions are apparent in the crystal packing with the tetra-hedrally and linearly coordinated Hg(II) atoms expanding their coordination environments by forming weak Hg⋯I [3.772 (7) Å] and Hg⋯O [2.921 (12) Å] inter-actions, respectively. Mercury-containing mol-ecules stack along the a axis, are connected by π-π inter-actions [inter-centroid distance between pyridine and benzene rings = 3.772 (7) Å] and define channels in which the dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecules reside. The latter are connected by the aforementioned Hg⋯O inter-actions as well as C-H⋯I and C-H⋯O inter-actions, resulting in a three-dimensional architecture.

Project description:In the title compound, C21H29N3O, the dihedral angle between the planes of the aromatic rings is 8.1 (2)°. The ethyl groups at one terminal site of the compound are disordered over two sets of sites with occupancies of 0.775 (9) and 0.225 (9). The mol-ecule has an E conformation about the N=C bond. The mol-ecular structure features an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond, which closes an S(6) loop. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯π inter-actions leads to the formation of a three-dimensional network.
