[Bis(3-amino-prop-yl)amine-?N,N',N'']bis-(thio-cyanato-?N)cobalt(II).

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Co(NCS)(2)(C(6)H(17)N(3))], consists of one Co(2+) cation, two thio-cyanate anions and one bis-(3-amino-prop-yl)amine ligand, all in general positions. The cobalt cation is coordinated by five N atoms of two terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate anions and one bis-(3-amino-prop-yl)amine ligand, defining a slightly distorted square-pyramidal coordination polyhedron. The mol-ecules are held together in the crystal by weak N-H?S inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu2(C19H31N4O)(OH)(NCS)2], the mol-ecular structure of the dinuclear complex reveals two penta-coordinated Cu(II) ions, which are bridged by the phenolate O atom of the ligand and by an exogenous hydroxide ion. The bridging atoms occupy equatorial positions in the coordination sphere of the metal atoms and complete the equatorial coordination planes with two ligand N atoms, the apical positions being occupied by thio-cyanate N atoms. The crystal structure also features ?-? stacking inter-actions involving the benzene rings with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.764?(4)Å. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin, with a refined BASF value of 0.203?(2).

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(NCS)?(C??H?N?O)?(H?O)?], the octa-hedrally coordinated Co(II) ion lies on a crystallographic inversion center and is bound by two isothio-cyanate ligands, two aqua ligands and two N-(pyridin-4-yl)isonicotinamide (4-pina) ligands. The dihedral angle between the aromatic rings in the 4-pina ligand is 8.98?(11)°. In the crystal, the individual mol-ecular units are aggregated in three dimensions by O-H?N, O-H?S and N-H?S hydrogen-bonding pathways.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(NCS)(2)(C(6)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Cu(II) atom, lying on an inversion center, adopts a Jahn-Teller distorted octahedral CuN(6) coordination geometry. The two bidentate 2-amino-methyl-pyridine ligands are coordinated in a trans fashion, while the two thio-cyanate ligands are at the axial positions and coordinate to the Cu atom in a bent mode with a C-N-Cu angle of 127.49 (10)°. Inter-molecular N-H⋯N and N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds link the copper complex mol-ecules into an infinite two-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title complex, [Fe(NCS)2(C18H18N4)], the Fe(II) cation is chelated by a tris-(2-pyridyl-meth-yl)amine ligand and coordin-ated by two thio-cyanate anions in a distorted N6 octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions between parallel pyridine rings of adjacent mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.653 (3) Å] link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional supra-molecular architecture. The structure contains voids of 124 (9) Å(3), which are free of solvent molecules.

Project description:The reaction of Co(NCS)2 with 3-(amino-meth-yl)pyridine as coligand leads to the formation of crystals of the title compound, [Co(NCS)2(C6H8N2)2] n , that were characterized by single-crystal X-ray analysis. In the crystal structure, the CoII cations are octa-hedrally coordinated by two terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate anions as well as two pyridine and two amino N atoms of four symmetry-equivalent 3-(amino-meth-yl)pyridine coligands with all pairs of equivalent atoms in a trans position. The CoII cations are linked by the 3-(amino-meth-yl)pyridine coligands into layers parallel to the ac plane. These layers are further linked by inter-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bonding into a three-dimensional network. The purity of the title compound was determined by X-ray powder diffraction and its thermal behavior was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry.

Project description:The reaction of one equivalent Co(NCS)2 with four equivalents of urotropine (hexa-methyl-ene-tetra-mine) in ethanol leads to the formation of two compounds, namely, bis-(ethanol-κO)bis-(thio-cyanato-κN)bis-(urotropine-κN)cobalt(II), [Co(NCS)2(C6H12N4)2(C2H6O)2] (1), and tetra-kis-(ethanol-κO)bis-(thio-cyanato-κN)cobalt(II)-urotropine (1/2), [Co(NCS)2(C2H6O)4]·2C6H12N4 (2). In 1, the Co cations are located on centers of inversion and are sixfold coordinated by two terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate anions, two ethanol and two urotropine ligands whereas in 2 the cobalt cations occupy position Wyckoff position c and are sixfold coordinated by two anionic ligands and four ethanol ligands. Compound 2 contains two additional urotropine solvate mol-ecules per formula unit, which are hydrogen bonded to the complexes. In both compounds, the building blocks are connected via inter-molecular O-H⋯N (1 and 2) and C-H⋯S (1) hydrogen bonding to form three-dimensional networks.

The thione S atoms lie to the same side of the benzene ring and the carbonyl O atoms to the other. The most prominent feature of the crystal packing is the formation of inversion dimers mediated by N-H?S hydrogen bonds. One of the 2-methyl-propyl groups is statistically disordered over two positions.
